Hi, which is the "only download" folder location of Windows Update MiniTool Thank you very much Andrea
WUMT is just (an excellent one btw) front-end for Windows Update so there's no different download location other than C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download
I have a simple request for your WU Minitool. I find the icons-only UI extremely difficult to understand and prefer text labels. Can you please add text labels to those 6 cryptic icons of arrows and lines - whatever they mean?

Will this application be a problem if I place it on a computer that gets Windows 10 "Insider Preview" downloads? Will I continue to get the new "insider Preview" Operating Systems using your software?
Hello coover: Because of the increasing interest in the Windows Update MiniTool, please consider trying a single left-click to the "Check for updates" icon and let the forum know. That will be a completely passive operation and WUMT is portable (doesn't install). Thank you.
I did as suggested and received about 6 updates to be downloaded. All are now being downloaded. None, however, were "Insider Previews", probably because none have been released since the last Windows 10 Preview Build. I'll let your app run until I hear that another Build has been released, try it then, then let you know. In the meantime, I've disabled all automatic updates (which is the reason I wanted to try this software). My problem here is that I have 7 computers and very slow broadband. When 2 or more computers are trying to update simultaneously, my internet becomes useless for anything else.
Hello coover: Your experiences should now go a long way to remove most lingering doubt that WUMT could indeed work okay with the next major upgrade for W10. Thank you.
Version 2.6.12.2015 (english) no longer works, I get OLE error 80240FFF Windows 10 v1511 build 10586.318 I assume this is the latest english version?
That is a problem with WU itself. There are various solutions, like running SFC scan and deleting folder SoftwareDistribution\Download
Ok where is the link to download the english version, all the downloads for that version are RUSSIAN.
There is no english version, you have to download the language you want, unpack it and then put it into the same folder as the exe.
Just discovered this utility... running 12.05.2016 x64 portable on Win7 Ult x64 Wondering how long it takes for it to do a "Search for Updates." It's been running for 2 hrs now. FYI, earlier installed KB3161664 (so WU scans don't take forever) and doing a "Check for Updates" in Windows Updates only took a few minutes to complete. Update: it finally finished its search, took 2 hrs 38 min
New here. First off I want to say thanks to the creators of the Windows Update MiniTool and the people who have posted. I have a couple of questions of the minitool which by the way I am using version 12.05.2016 Q1 - My system is up to date, but I still get the minitool stating that it is out of date. Example, My ethernet port is up to date with Intel (21.0 driver date 5-10-2016), but when i run the minitool it says it is out of date with a driver dated 4-29-2016 so not sure what's going on here. Q2 - I saw the option to just download. Where does the file get downloaded exactly? I mean what location. Again, many thanks to all who made this tool. Using it on Windows 10 and on my brand new Skylake system.
First... Welcome! As to Q1, Windows Update is notorious for offering inferior driver updates. Personally, I never install MS's offering of 3rd party driver updates. Often times they are stripped down versions. I stick with drivers offered directly from the OEM
Not always, MS sometimes offer latest drivers, which are not even listed on manufacturer's webpage, like Realtek Audio. Official Realtek Audio is from June 25th 2015 and Microsoft offers the full driver provided by Realtek from June 14th 2016.
There is a new option in the latest version of WUMT to - "Include drivers". Does anyone know what the preset option means? I know what a ticked and unticked box means but what does the blob mean? Since there is no options involved it is seemingly pointless but of course have some meaning - probably.
