    I don't think it will hurt the AV market, Windows 8 might be more secure but malware writers are always ahead of the OS Developers. :D

    No because IMO MS-OS will never be that secure under the hood and for that very reason, people will use there favorites and the Antivirus programs will keep rolling along as with all the previous version of windows.
