There are multiple betas going on at the moment - some of them have been updated to version 7.9.0.1 (the current Webroot products are 7.0 so we're making the beta 7.9 for clarity).

Appears this was noticed yesterday, however still running 3.9.2.16. Never had an "auto update" go late yet. Do we need to download this one somewhere? o_O

You may need to wait another 24 hours for the update to be pushed down to you. If it doesn't, could you email a log to report@prevxresearch.com so that I can take a look?

    Thanks!

    Hi Joe

Was going to update further that I am still seeing the same thing as PatG but basedo n what you have advised will wait until tomorrow evening and then submit a feedback report if nothing has changed by then.

    Cheers

I know it is now a public beta, but as one the original closed testers, it keeps saying I have the latest version.

However, mine does not update from v3.9.2.16.

So, it appears I have the same problem:

Just use the link you got and download the new version but do a clean install and not over top!

    Hi TH,

Do I just go through Add/Remove routine, or is there another removal tool I can use? ...just in case! ;)

P.S. I see you had no problem getting the update the other day.

Add/Remove is good but because of the name change a clean install is the way to go!

Same here. A lot of my friends who are now users of the PrevxSOL will hav to rethink what kind of strategy they will use once "it" dies. I do not know if there is already an announcement at facebook but a lot will be in a dilemma.

On me Webroot should continue the free Safeonline version. In my part of the world PrevxSOL is just starting to be recognized. I also seem to notice that the experience resulting to the usage of SOL is just passed on to friends who tried and liked it. Being a host to a freeware version will also make it popular as in the case of Avast, Avira, Panda Cloud...etc.

The beta combination will definitely turn heads of Avast/Avira users here in my place especially if there's a free version. But that's just me. :)

Sorry, I didn't see that :) We're actively developing the Mac version - I believe it will be split into multiple product types like the Windows version as well, but I haven't heard anything that specific yet.

No problems ;) And thanks for the answer, looking forward to it :thumb:

And I believe that you will be the first vendor to introduce the first True Cloud AM for the Mac!

Hi, these are excerpts of a mail I wrote to WRSA support regarding its incorporated Firewall.

Would you please let me/us know if these features be in place before the BETA is overo_O

    Excerpt, from my mail:

    1. There is no difference whether firefox.exe or killermalware.exe attempts a connection to the internet. The warnings/alerts are identical.
Maybe colour coding red for unsigned/suspicious software, yellow for unknown green for signed.

    2. Resolving the IP address would/may also help

    3. No way of knowing, whether it is a legitimate attempt at connecting to the internet or an illegitimate one.

    4. A. warning that a connection attempt is being made in a suspicious manner

    5. The program/file was previously allowed to connect to the internet but has changed, do you want to allow it to connect?

All I am given at the moment is XYZ program wants to connect to the internet, allow: yes or no?
    Not much to go on...

    REPLY from WRSA suport, excerpt:

    Hello,
Thank you for the feedback. We agree with each of the firewall suggestions and will be adding these in a future update.

I'm not sure if these will be in place before the beta is finished but they are higher on our priority list for incremental improvements while the product is released. We're focused on stability and compatibility at the moment, as well as improving general protection and default features.

Very nice observations there. Yeah would like to see those in the firewall but since stability and compatibility is of the focus at the moment, I do intend to use my own firewall in the meantime. Hope there will be a custom install for components soon ad not just turning/disabling the firewall which leaves a "greyed-out-icon with exclamation mark" in the sys tray.
