Latest BETA has same version number as previous BETA?
"Open Website" opens an empty browser...

    For my understanding:
Does UCheck automatically upload a list of the local installed software or does the "community" need to help you manually?

This is true, the "Updates" tab will be the next one in line for rafactoring.
One bug discovered (before anyone else tells), the Installed tab doesn't show "Outdated: Yes" for Community programs.

It's automatic, for now it's cloud config driven. We can turn it on/off at will for everyone.
This is why it's getting better and better with more data.

I have some UX feredback for the new filter buttons: they are horrible (under UX perspective).
Showing just one character as caption and the forcing users to learn the meaning is not a great way.
Especially the last button is not logical (O for Up-To-Date, the letter "O" is not in the term).
Yes, there are tooltips, but I have to hover the mouse over each button and wait 2 seconds, before the tooltip is shown.

Why don't you use Checkboxes or Toggle Switches (the modern component)?
Here users have captions that can be seen at once.

    Captions for the Toggle Switches:
    • Unsupported
    • Community-Apps
    • Installed
    • Portable
    • Microsoft-Apps
    • Excluded
    • Up-To-Date
It would also be nice to see a counter on top of the list, that shows the number of displayed apps:
    Displaying 6 / 110 apps

    @Tigzy, gotcha!
Btw, a bug to report. When a new update is available, and I try to click on the link suggested by UCheck nothing really happens.
Sorry if this is already discussed.

    @Tigzy : Very good update !!
One suggestion, when clicking on "Ignoring this update" in the action menu, the update should automatically be removed from the list (eg : should not need a new scan to be hidden)

    Some feedback on the beta.

Please help me understand what all the different color highlighting's are for.

On the Installed window I'm seeing red, gray, light blue, and purple highlighting. What does each of these mean?

On the updates window I get 9 updates in the beta that I don't get in the latest release. They are all highlighted in dark blue. What does dark blue mean? Why didn't I see these the the latest release version? It shows I have no updates available? The updates showing in the beta are for

On the Installed window are the filter buttons supposed to work?

When I select U for unsupported, it is isn't showing unsupported apps it is hiding them.
When I select C for community it is showing a lot of apps that are supported.
When I select I for installed applications, it is only showing AdwCleaner.
When I select P for portable, it is showing many installed applications.
When I select M for Microsoft, it is not showing Microsoft applications it is hiding them.
When I select E for excluded, it is showing a lot of applications. I have no applications excluded.
When I select O for update to date, the list is empty even though all of m applications are up to date.

How are these buttons supposed to work?

Also, why when you ignore an update it says "exclude successful" as I didn't tell it to exclude it (only to ignore it). Why then these two options exists if they do the same thing?

    A couple of enhancement requests.

Please make the status of the buttons (depressed or not) sticky so that they don't have to be reselected after every scan or when the program is closed and reopened.
Please make the installed list sort order sticky so that we don't have to resort the list after every scan or when the program is closed and reopened.

Right about now Tigzy is cowering in a dark room somewhere asking himself" Why, why, why did I start this project'?

Steam is supported by UCheck and SUMo told me, that there is an update available.
UCheck does not show the update.

When I start Steam, there is an update available.

Maybe it would be easier for him and better for us to take over SUMo instead of trying to improve UCheck.

Ucheck, with the community detection really has the potential to be a very good alternative to SUMo with a more modern core engine.

I'm sure with time Ucheck can fill the gap left by SUMo... we've just got to be patient :)

I'm confused about the colour coding on the Installed tab. As newbie to UCheck I assumed that all programs listed on the Installed tab were included in the UCheck Software List at https://www.adlice.com/ucheck-software-list/ of programs that UCheck "supports" (i.e., scans for updates) but that assumption appears to be incorrect.

UCheck currently lists 47 programs on the Installed tab today, including Intel Driver & SupportAssistant v23.3.25.6 (outdated) and MS Edge v117.0.245.47. However, when I enable the Show Supported Only checkbox on that tab UCheck only displays 6 programs - 5 in purple (7-Zip, iTunes, Malwarebytes, Microsoft OneDrive and Firefox) and one in red (the outdated "portable" AdwCleaner v7.4.2 on my removable USB stick).

    UCheck v4_10_2 Installed Tab 47 Programs 01 Oct 2023.png

UCheck v4_10_2 Installed Tab 6 Supported Programs 01 Oct 2023.png

Am I correct that the Installed tab in UCheck is similar to Control Programs | Programs | Programs and Features and lists the 46 programs in purple and white (excluding the AdwClearner on my USB stick that is highlighted in red) that I can uninstall with UCheck, but that the only programs that UCheck actually checks for updates on my system are highlighted in purple and red (i.e., 7-Zip, AdwCleaner, iTunes, Malwarebytes, Microsoft OneDrive and Firefox)?

If this is correct then that explains the results of a test I ran yesterday where SUMo was able detect available updates for Intel Driver & SupportAssistant and MS Edge that were not detected by UCheck. This is important because the MS Edge v117.0.2045.47 update (rel. 29-Sept-2023) recommended by SUMo included a critical update for the CVE-2023-5217 zero-day that is being actively exploited in the wild (see the MS Edge release notes <here>) ...

SUMo v5_17_10 Detects New MS Edge v117_0_2045_47 30 Sep 2023.png

... while UCheck v4.10.2 could only detect one pending update for the outdated AdwCleaner v7.4.2 I saved on my removable USB stick for testing and did not report that my outdated MS Edge v117.0.2045.43 browser with the critical CVE-2023-5217 vulnerability needed to be updated.

The problem is space. I can't add 6 or more checkboxes without reducing the layout. Small checkable buttons are the solution, I'll try to make them more readable.

    Good idea.

Because the alpha/beta is not available for update, you need to use the portable download link.

Thanks, that was the plan when the "Updates" tab will be refactored. (amongst other changes)
