Just an FYI that UCheck v5.5.0.1 was released today (12-Jun-2024). Release notes are posted at https://www.adlice.com/docs/ucheck/release-notes/changelog/.

Note that v5.5.0.1 now loads the previous scan results in the interface when UCheck is started. If you prefer to have UCheck automatically start a new scan when the app is launched this can be configured at History & Settings | General Settings | Auto-Scan.

Yes version 5.5 is now out :) Now much differences compared to the BETA 4 for those who tested it.

adlice page is veeery slow here, but also crystaldiskinfo and sourceforge too, but not that slow.
    download was fast in comparison.

still writing settings in registry for the portable.
    still typo in german language
"Sever für..." instead "Server für" - come on.

PS there is something broken with update for potplayer.
240514 is 1.7.22233, but it still show up as 240509 which is obviously wrong

    The installer is wrong.

Yes yesterday it worked fine, it's today that started to failed.

It goes to "creating report" and then something breaks, I see the "Download" Button stays gray, which was never the case.
And a network trace shows the server throwing an error 500.

Results are also not working as expected.
Reproduced on two machines now (using free portable version).

I suspect something in the JSON POST is crashing the server process then, perhaps something specific to my setup/software used.

    Hi RonnyT:

I just ran UCheck Free Portable v5.5.0.2 to scan for updates for both installed programs and portable apps and the scan ran to completion and found two available updates. All my portable apps, including UCheck Free, are located on a removable USB stick.

Thanks for testing, I have 2 machines with issues, gonna spin up a VM now.

What's the color of the "Download" button after this?
I'm seeing the server return Error 500's so there must be something going on somewhere.

    Free portable user here also…
All my portable programs are on the second physical disk in my laptop.
UCheck is set to auto start with the PC after 90 seconds.
I have already restarted it 2 times today and all went well.

My VM does the same, this machine has never seen UCheck portable before.
Best indicator if you don't have a proxy is that the "Download" button doesn't turn blue, and the scan ends prematurely.

    Hi RonnyT:

Further to my post # 1510, after the scan finishes in UCheck Free Portable v5.5.0.2 my Download button is dark (navy) blue, then turns light blue when clicked. Note the "This feature is not available in Free version" message in the top banner after I click the Download button.

If you believe your problem is related to your system configuration you can file a bug report at https://github.com/AdliceSoftware/UCheck/issues.

That's expected, what was not expected was the fact that the button didn't turn "Blue" because it could not load the list of installable software from the server because of the Error 500 issue.

    Hi ldeveraux:

I suspect there's less activity in this Wilders topic these days because the developer Tigzy has suggested that we go through formal Adlice channels to report problems to ensure they are assigned a ticket number. As a general rule I now report my erroneous (false positive) detections at https://www.adlice.com/contact/ and submit bug reports and feature requests in the new bug tracker at https://github.com/AdliceSoftware/UCheck/issues.

It also helps that major feature changes added to UCheck in the past eight months or so (e.g., support for Community and Winget apps) have had most of the bugs fixed thanks to Tigzy's hard work, so I'm finding that recent releases of UCheck are much more stable than they used to be.

    It's vacation :)
Telemetry shows people are still in, at least.
Less bugs maybe ? Big updates are coming, that will maybe wake everybody up

Hi, when trying to download the new version 5.6.0.0 of https://www.adlice.com/ucheck/
I get a warning about an expired certificate. This has expired today. Is it possible to renew the certificate during the vacation period? Have a nice vacation and thanks for the good work!
