Hi, there's tooltips to help you, on the buttons, and also on the rows. They explain the different colors.

There's "ignore this version" and "ignore this software". Version ignore will do it only for the current latest version, after that it will show up again.

Just make two rows of checkboxes/switches:
    Code:
    [X] Unsupported [X] Installed [X] Excluded [X] Microsoft-Apps
    [X] Community-Apps [X] Portable [X] Up-To-Date

I also grouped them here logically.

So you have some free space for a 8th checkbox (like "Beta Apps")

Ok, now try to translate those in German :)
Rows of checkboxes are really not the best solution, they scale very poorly

Thanks for the proposal, we have a German translator :)

I'll try to make a combo list / dropdown list instead.

I also wanted to offer my help, already translated some apps....

    upload_2023-10-2_10-13-16.png

My password manager Keeper has a "Filter" button behind the search field, that shows/hides the filter dropdowns.
In each dropdown you can select various criteria.
    Just as inspiration.

    @Tigzy :
One feature I relly miss is Copy the App-Information via Ctrl+C.
In SUMo I can press Ctr+C to copy the selected line in SUMo.
I also can press Ctrl+A to select all entries and then Ctrl+C to copy them.
This would be very useful for the Installed apps and also the available updates.

I know that I have the reports (in the settings) but this requires several mouse clicks.
A "one button click" solution would be much better.

When I open such a report or export it to "TXT", then there is a blank character after each character:
    Code:
    P r o g r a m : U C h e c k

     V e r s i o n : 4 . 1 1 . 0 . 0

     x 6 4 : Y e s

     P r o g r a m D a t e : S e p 2 9 2 0 2 3
I have to open the TXT file in Notepad++ to get a readable version, but Windows Notepad (Windows 11) is not able to handle that.

Looks like UTF coded in an ANSI file. ANSI has 1 byte, UTF 2 bytes for each token.

Not a lot, but "merging" words into a single one :D

The filters is going to look like this in the next version (EDIT, minus the label duplicates):

    2023-10-02 10_44_27-Cuckoo Host - 192.168.1.17_3389 - Connexion Bureau à distance.png

    @Tigzy : Looks great!

    Edit:
One thing that I recognized is, that the white chevron (arrow down) is very close to the right border.
Seems like the button is truncated.

In UCheck I get the following updates shown (all of them are community updates):
    • Intel(R) Management Engine Components (64-bit), version 2230.3.20.0
    • Intel(R) Serial IO (64-bit), version 30.100.2221.20
    • Intel(R) Chipset Device Software (32-bit), version 10.1.19199.8340

Windows 11 does not update these drivers/applications.
So, how do "normal" users (that do not use an update manager) get informed about these updates?
    How do they update them?

The report is encoded in UTF-16 which is used by .NET. Notepad++ will properly display UTF-16 and other encodings without conversion. You can use the Encoding tab of Notepad++ to convert the text to UTF-8 which Notepad will properly display. UTF-8 is normal encoding for international use. Notepad was updated several years ago to handle it.

IMO Community Updates will come with a disclaimer, because this is probably the case for many others. I can filter some, let's say the most seen, but not all the cases.

In case of ASUS hardware they are provided by an Updater Tool provided by ASUS itself!
I think other hardware vendors are providing similar tools, but I can't judge because I always use ASUS hardware...

I am a Usability Engineer and I fight for a great UX (User Experience).
When I save a report as TXT, then I expect that I can read it without any conversion.

My intention here is also UX:
A normal user (I am not normal, I am totally crazy) needs more help here.
An URL to the product website, where I can download the update with one click.

That is also not possible, imagine doing this for hundreds of thousands of products ? That's a "supported program" feature.
It was decided to open a web browser search page instead. It takes 2 clicks instead of one, but it's totally automatable.

I searched in the web and found the "Intel® Driver-and-Support-Assistent".
Let's see, if this tool helps....

After downloading the Intel® Driver-and-Support-Assistent it offered me an update for the following driver:
    Intel® Wireless Bluetooth® für Windows 10 und Windows® 11

Now it tells me, that my system is up-to-date:
    upload_2023-10-2_12-34-4.png

Ucheck still offers the intel drivers/tools:
    upload_2023-10-2_12-34-50.png

    Very confusing

    Hi OLLI_S:

If you click the View a List of Exclusions link in the Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) browser page as shown below you will be directed to the support article Intel Products That Aren’t Supported by Intel Driver & Support Assistant (Intel DSA) that has a long list of drivers and firmware updates that “the Intel DSA does not currently offer, but may still appear as a detected component in your system when you perform an Intel DSA scan” . That list of unsupported items includes chipset drivers, Ethernet drivers (only offered for Intel NUCs and Intel Compute Sticks) and BIOS files (again, only offered for Intel NUCs and Intel Compute Sticks).

Ollie_S Intel Driver and Support Assistant Results EDITED 02 Oct 2023.png

As a general rule I only install hardware drivers recommended on the support page of my Dell Inspiron 5584 that have been tested for compatibility with my Dell BIOS. The Intel DSA recommends a newer driver for my Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU but also warns that "Installing this graphics driver from Intel will remove customizations from your computer manufacturer (OEM)". I'm not a gamer and don't need the "latest and greatest" graphics driver from Intel so for now I am using the Intel graphics driver (as well as the Intel chipset and Intel management engine components) that Dell recommends for my Inspiron 5584.

Intel DSA v23_3_25_6 One Update Intel UHD Graphics 620 v31_0_101_2125 EDITED 07 Jul 2023.png

If there is a driver provided by your hardware vendor installed, Intel DSA will reject updating it.

I would call me an PC pro, but divers is something, that I am not really good at.

I have a custom build PC, not a PC from a vendor that updates all drivers automatically.
And my expectation was, that Windows will update all required drivers for me (and Intel DSA will update the rest).

I remember, that some time (years) ago SUMo offered me some updates for tools, that came with my printer.
But when I went to the download section of my printer model, the older version was the current one.
Means: the new printer tools are offered for other printer models, not for my model.

Therefore I am not sure, if the updates that are reported by UCheck are really "valid" for my system, or if these drivers are up-to-date on my system.
