    I enabled that very tweak tonight and although Edge is snappy enough, adding that performance mode seems to stepped up browsing noticably.

    Fixed it !!
    I now have google set as my home page and it doesn't ask me anymore. My right-click and new tab + are back.
    I went through every single setting in Edge, there seems to be hundreds!!
    Not really too sure which ones did the trick but suspect it was one of the ones (or a mixture of them) in Privacy Search and Services.
    I need a lie down now :)

    Good that you fixed your Edge, stapp. Maybe others will follow your example. Edge doesn't need performance mode on here, it's virtually instant. But I see, looking at Microsoft forums, that the user-defined homepage issue is an issue for at least some. It's not working for me either.

    Update: suddenly, setting my own start page works. I just tried it with a random URL I chose. Magic! Thanks to here for the notice.

    The only problem i have with Edge is setting the home page. I can live with that until they fix it. I use Chrome all the time anyway.

    as test ~ I've created new desktop shortcut for Edge "Performance Mode" so, I can switch between modes.
    Edge feels snappy, for me, w/wo performance mode. IDK

    I added the string to the shortcut and Edge starts without error, however in Settings/System I'm still seeing Startup Boost. Under Optimize Performance I only see options for sleeping tabs. Running Version 91.0.864.37 (Official build) (64-bit).

    Thanks for the screen. I turned off Startup Boost and the Performance Mode setting became available upon restart. It's not clear which feature/setting is faster, but either way performance is very good.

    Switching the flag that has been posted around to Disabled fixed both issues for me (Startup page and the annoying screen about settings).

    All i did was restart my computer today and decided to start up Edge. All the bugs from yesterday are gone now. My home page is like it always was and i don't get anything about changing settings.
