you should never use any driver other than Microsoft's NVMe drive otherwise you will lose DirectStorage capability

Only for NVMe Drives not regular SATA SSDs

    1) To check if you have an NVMe Driver os standard Microsoft NVMe Driver, go to device manager, expand storage controllers, then right click on Standard NVM Express Controller, then choose properties, then check the driver version, if it's the standard Microsoft one, it would have a number that looks similar to your Windows Build number, this is on my Windows 11 22H3 build: 10.022621.2506

    2)
    • DirectStorage is enabled automatically if your PC supports it, so you don’t need to turn it on.
    • For DirectStorage to work, your PC needs to have an NVMe SSD and a DirectX 12 compatible graphics card.
    • To check: Press Win+G, go to gear icon > Gaming features. Check the Graphics and DirectStorage sections.

DirectStorage is not supported system wide...
In my setup, which is 240gb nvme OEM samsung as a system drive(windows) and with 1TB HDD(used for games etc).
By using an Samunsung EVO driver for my OEM samsung nvme, speed increase is about 10%. Which is always good to get more speed.
I do have 16 GB ram, i'm using 8 GB PrimoCache to...cache HDD.
So when you boot your PC, PrimoCache loads all the latest stuff in the cache, and it does it quite fast, because it works as a "block level" and not "file cache".
    Highly recommended sofware.

Samsung magician is a file cache, primocache works in a so called "block level"
    So in my situation:
If you're using Lenovo or any with Samsung OEM nvme: install EVO driver --> 10% speed r/w speed up (tested with disk mark software)
I do have 16GB ram, where 8GB dedicated to HDD caching by Primocache.
    You'll see a difference.

    Hi
Well I have tried on w11 pro ,and it's a great software ,but the last version does use only w10 and w7 drivers
    does yours use w11 drivers?
by the way it's pretty faster than Samsung magician , i guess Samsung magician is good only to update firmware , sadly i could not run on portable mode or under a winpe , just because it's a lot of mb
    thanks

Finally, I got my issues with the latest versions of Samsung Magician resolved. It seems that all versions after 7.3 requires the server service to be enabled. Really weird decision by the developers. I am not sure that I am liking it.
