I don't use Process Lasso to gain performance, I use it because it provides me stability versus unstable programs.

Some badly coded programs can choke your computer down so badly it will become stuck. (By using too many resources e.g.)

Process Lasso prevents this from happening, I could say it works because in the course of using this program I can't remember having any chokes since ages.

    Hi,

I ought to admit that this app DOES help improving app performance and stability. Noticeable ones. You need to try it and then believe it.

In the past, I have bypassed it many times, but after this trial, my views have changed.

After being a total skeptic, I have to admit I am seeing a bit more stability here also. And this machine has 4gb ram. I also noticed it on shutdown. Cool.

I was a skeptic and, after using Lasso for a couple of days, I still am! Since installing it 2 days ago I've been running MS Office 2007 apps and IE7 without any apparent improvement whatsoever (speed-up, smoother operation, etc.). :thumbd: :thumbd:

Installed on WinXP SP3 (2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM)

I tried Process Lasso back when I was having problems with Firefox using close to 100% CPU when I closed it (due to some kind of issue with it and Threatfire). I thought that Process Lasso would keep Firefox from using all CPU but it didn't make one iota of difference. I dropped Process Lasso off my machine really quickly afterwards.

Process Lasso doesn't deny any process from use all CPU. It isn't their goal.

    Quoted:

Windows, by design, allows programs to monopolize your CPU without restraint -- leading to freezes and hangs. Process Lasso's ProBalance technology intelligently adjusts the priority of running programs so that badly behaved programs won't interfere with your ability to use the computer!

It's why it improves your PC's responsiveness and stability.

Their work isn't to deny app. from working. PL does their work without need to say "I'm good. Look to me. I'm great" - Why? Because their work is very good... It doesn't need to be vain!

I thought it didn't even worth the time downloading it at first. But i 'll be damned, i DO notice a speed up in every program launched! 3800x2 AMD, 2GB RAM, XP SP3!
Every program seems to be executed faster and i am positive about this.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Well it didn't work for me. When FF was using 100% CPU my system was locked up just as bad with PL on board as it was without it.

Firebytes, maybe ... if your Firefox ( his Priority is normal? ) becomes weak, you make right click on process from Firefox/ Misc advanced functions/trim virtual memory !

Also; Options/ notch: More strictly enforce default priorities and affinities.

    Good luck!

    ... it's lucky you're coming here.;)

I haven't had problems with Firefox in a long time (since I dumped Threatfire) and I don't use Process Lasso now either.

I'm currently trying it out on 2 PCs. One of them is an old PC which struggles normally. Process Lasso has made a big difference in usability of this PC :D

The other PC worked fine anyway so I'm not really noticing any difference on that one yet.
