Kingsoft Antivirus 2012 [Cloud]

Yes that's true. But for users who are happy with Kingsoft I see no need for them to switch.

 

Booted up a computer I haven't used in over a month that has Kingsoft AV on it. Was surprised to see it updated the virus definitions to today's date. I thought it had turned into an inactive program but maybe I was wrong. Have always really liked Kingsoft so I guess I will leave it on here and see what happens now. I thought for anyone who had given up on Kingsoft I would post this information. The program version is still 2012.SP5.7.062817

 

The last two weeks .. my KAV has been updating two to three times a day.

 

yes same here, still my favorite Chinese AV, I just thought they gave up support for us here in the states...

The second link is for an older and completely different Kingsoft Antivirus.

The newer version is much lighter.

Some of the Chinese products have an option when installing for an English version. Have you tried this particular one in that regard? I have read that they gave up support for the English versions after the 2012 AV of which I still run on one of my computers. It is still updating daily and one of my favorites. I was hoping to upgrade if possible, we shall see......

 

I checked it and it does not have an english option. Its Chinese version only.

Yes, since it's not even three months since the last version was released.

I just tried it and its detection is not good anymore. Too bad it was a great AV once.

There is a new Japanese version.I wish they would release a new English version.I feel so left out.

it seems kingsoft antivirus 2012 5.7 is still having its definition updated? I tried it yesterday in VM and it updated fine. Even-though the GUI is old, the update for definition is still coming I think. Can anyone confirm this also.

 

yes I can; as I said before kingsoft is still continuing its journey. however, the English version isn't supported (database yes, GUI no)

update to virus signatures is continued, but update to new features and gui are not.
