Yes, even after reboot the alert still happens everytime I open my browsers. the only time the issue disappears is when I turn off Bitdefenders Active Virus Control.

Which browsers? And what version of Windows are you using?

    By the way, Erik,

I hope you noticed my March 23rd report?

I definitely do not want to rush you, but I'd like to make sure you noticed that report.
    Thanks very much.
Perhaps you're working on the issue, already. :)

Possible problem with Cryptoguard on/off feature.

    What I did:

    Set Crytoguard to off.
    Then turned it on again.
Opened Firefox 28.0, program freezes after some time (< 1 minute).
    Ended Firefox via Taskmanager.
Tried to start Firefox again but it won't start (I see Firfefox loading only at 28 mb).
    Laptop won't shut down.

    HmP.Alert .74, W7 64 bits and NIS 21.2.0.38.

Edit: tested this 3 times, 3 times same result.

Im using win 8.1, 64bit. The browsers affected are Opera, Firefox, and Chrome. Interestingly, the alert does not show up when I open Internet Explorer.

Security softwares running on my machine: Bitdefender Internet Security, Malwarebytes antiexploit and HitmanPro.Alert 2, of course.

We are still tinkering. Stuff we fix in v2.6 also makes it in v3 (same framework).

    That's an interesting question,
but I think first priority may be to fix the last issues with the 2.6 version, as that has now been issued as 'stable', and 2.0 and 2.5 are no longer offered but only the 2.6 version, and existing 2.0 and 2.5 users have been updated to 2.6.3.74.
I think it would be wise to make sure there's a truly stable 2.6 version, before all time and energy goes to version 3.
The 2.6 issues will also be fixed with version 3, but as version 3 will be a new and extended version, the version 3 beta will have it's own new issues for a little while, I suppose. Therefore, I think it would be wise to first fix the remaining 2.6 issues, to make sure that can be called a truly stable version.

I can't even start Internet Explorer when both Bitdefender (version 17.26.0.1106) and MBAE (version 0.10.0.1000) are installed on Win 8.1 x64
Note that I haven't installed Alert yet.

Firefox does run. Installed Alert, no alerts when browsing in Firefox. Internet Explorer still not working (it does work when I disable MBAE).

Can't reproduce the report above. Sending PM for remote support.

Issues in 2.6 will be addressed and will make it also in v3.

    Thanks, Erik.
Yes, I was sure that stuff fixed in v2.6 will also make it to v3.
But it is good to see that issues in 2.6 will be addressed (to make 2.6 truly stable).
I think you can understand why I said "I think it would be wise to first fix the remaining 2.6 issues".

    Thanks again
    and best regards

    HitmanPro.Alert thinks dropbox.exe is a virus

My client was attempting to upload some photos into DropBox and she received a message from Hitman Pro alerting that it had detected the “Virus Dropbox.exe" then this causes dropbox to crash.

Dropbox support said to uninstall / reinstall dropbox. Then it worked for awhile then did this again.

    HmP.Alert .74, W7 64 bits
MSE anti virus 4.4.304.0 , Malwarebytes Antimalware pro 1.75, Spywareblaster 5.0.

Will you also be updating 2.0 users?

As HitmanPro.Alert 2.0 is no longer offered, but 2.6.4.75 instead
    (check the download from http://www.surfright.nl/en/alert),
I supposed 2.0 users were updated together with the 2.5 and 2.6 users.
    But now I'm not sure.

We are testing the upgrade path. 2.0 will be updated soon so that all users are at common build.

I just saw this in another thread: http://dl.surfright.nl/Alert-3/HitmanPro-Alert-3-Datasheet.pdf

    1. Does this mean HMP.A will actually block exploits? I could have sworn when it came out it only alerted you if your browser had been compromised.

    2. Does this mean using MBAE is pointless?

    3. What version is Alert on now? Is version 3 with all these features out yet?

    You missed this post
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?p=2342300#post2342300

    Our press announcement:
    http://www.surfright.nl/en/home/press/surfright-announces-alert-3
(Check out the screens and video below the press message)

    To answer your questions:
    1. Yes it blocks exploits like EMET without the fuss configuring it.

    2. I would not say pointless. MBAE is a different product that takes on a different approach to stop exploits.

    3. Alert is at 2.6.4.75 so Alert 3 is not yet released (we demoed v3 at RSA). A few private builds are sent to a handful of testers. So far feedback is great!

    Hope this helps.

I have been following this thread for a while now, eagerly awaiting the new version with Cryptoguard. I did not want to test the beta, because at this moment I do not have enough time. And as I am running my business on only my laptop, as my desktop is broken, I also do not want to take any chances using a beta.

That being said, I upgraded to HMPA 2.6.3.75 when it was officially released (after uninstalling version 2.0.10.45). However yesterday I discovered a serious issue, which took me quite some time to figure out.

After installing the latest HMPA version I cannot log off from Windows anymore (shutting down and restart both still work). In the normal log off procedure I get a log off screen, then the screen is black for a short while after which the log on screen is shown. However, now log off stays stuck on the black screen and I never get the log on screen. There still is some regular disk activity as I can tell from the activity lights. But no matter how long I wait: the screen stays black and I am not fully logged off.

Uninstalling the latest HMPA version also does not work, whether via Windows or using Revo Uninstaller Pro. The proper two windows are shown: the confirmation that the program has been removed and the text that I have to restart the computer. But then Windows Explorer hangs. Nothing happens and I cannot open or close any other program (I can still move my mouse though). After a while I get the message that Windows Explorer stopped working. If I then choose to restart Windows Explorer, that does not happen either.

I am using Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Norton Internet Security 2012 (v 19.9.1.14). I have tried whether upgrading to the latest NIS version (v 21.something) solved anything, but no. The issues persisted.

The only solution was to restore a system image containing HMPA 2.0.10. I do hope that you will not be rolling out automatic updates to version 2.6 very soon, before this issue is solved. If so, is there any way to block automatic updates? I have been using version 2.0 for more than half a year now without any issues.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thank you for reporting, pimjoosten.
It is the same issue that I reported March 23rd.

Luckily, I did not encounter that problem.
I was able to uninstall HitmanPro.Alert without an issue.

I think that would be very wise.

I asked the same on March 23rd, but there was no answer to that question, so far.
I was using HitmanPro.Alert version 2.5.6.64 without issues, and I would like to use version 2.5.6.64 without it automaticly updating to version 2.6.3.75, till the issue with the new version is fixed.

Eric, how can I repair this ?
After the automatic update to 2.6.4.75 the flyout is not showing anymore in ALL my browsers.
I have already uninstalled, reboot and reinstalled HitmanPro.Alert.
This happened in my Vista, but also in my Windows 8.1 system.

HitmanPro 3.7.9.214, Avast free, IE9(+ie11), Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome, Avant,Web of Trust Malware, MalwarebytesAnti-Mw 2.00.0.1000Premium

Is the flyout configured to "At application startup" under Settings?

Because of local identity vault/safe you stay at v 19.9.1.14? Otherwise updating to latest version of NIS is better.
