On the other hand DefenderUI pro is still early bêta, so I just wait for the next release from Dan. Uninstalling WiseVector did not change anything of course…

I agree. If it is DefenderUIPro maybe a newer version can be more compatible. And also someone can always pass your system issue to Dan where he can determine how best to pinpoint it for you if needed with a updated release.

Hope you get it working smooth for you soon :thumb:

@Antarctica Why not sent a mail to Dan: support at defenderui.com ?
The emailadres at the top of this page: https://defenderui.com
That should be the fastest way to get help.
He is not very active at MalwareTips at the moment.

The new rule is to solve an issue that the update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus antimalware platform failed:

BTW, for what it's worth, DefenderUI didn't seem to be the cause of my slow boot up time on Win 10. I have removed MBAE and now all is fine, so this was the culprit. I haven't tried the newest DefenderUI freeware version yet, but I will soon reinstall.

Only thing putting me of trying DefenderUI Pro instead of Andy Ful's Windows hardening tools (or DefenderUI Free) combined with VoodooShield is the need for WD's tamper protection to be disabled for some DefenderUI Pro features to work. DefenderUI Pro looks great but I don't feel comfortable with Windows own security features being partially turned off, if it's the only AV running, even if the 3rd part tool offsets this. Hopefully this can be avoided in later Beta versions.

From Dan, the features that require tamper protection to be disabled are

    https://malwaretips.com/threads/defenderui.109495/post-964217
“Yes, most of the features in DefenderUI do not require Tamper Protection to be disabled. The only features that do require Tamper Protection to be disabled are: Real-time Protection, Behavior Monitoring, Scan all downloaded files and attachments, Script scanning and Threat Default Actions. So there are the only features that are not available, and this applies to all profiles. Thank you!”

I installed this program earlier today, for the first time, and I have two log entries from VoodooShield logs:

I found these two crash dumps related to DefenderUI:

@Tarnak, Dan mention that at the moment you can’t use the Pro version with Voodooshield, only the free version.

Thanks. My version is 1.00. I wonder if I can install the Pro version over the top? It is getting late, and I will wait until tomorrow, to see what I will do.

Yes you can install over the top, but don’t install the Pro if you are using Voodooshield!
