That's not very encouraging news. :( I'll stay with V2.7 and wait for ESET to stomp on a few more bugs before I risk V3 or ESS trial again.
Re: So since the launch of v3 had to install .563 I don't think you're losing much by waiting a while. V2.7 uses the same detection updates....
I wrote to ESET Australia: Subject: ESET Australia Smart Security Upgrade I'm registered for 4 PCS, User Name: AV-6xxxxxx, Password:...
Eset is sure trying hard to control negative fall-out from this mess but 3 19MB downloads in 1 week to fix a small % of the bugs in a program that...
Probably because they're not infections. Remember the famous rapper Notorious Big? Well Stopzilla is the famous Notorious Piece of Crap Spyware...
ESET Australia offers a free ESS upgrade for local users, but their website says they don't have an upgrade path from ESET yet. Whatever, it's not...
NOD32 V3 uses some of the firewall component so it's probably a conflict. Oupost FW is crap IMO, but the FW in ESS is worse. ESET needs its head...
That's pure suckup! Your advice is always good and your V2.7 "maximum security" settings would be the out-of-the-box setup if ESET listened to...
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm back to V2.7 too. I haven't given up on ESET yet, but the smell of bullshit is starting to get to me. The product...
The ESS firewall sucks. I've never seen so many error messages in my life. ESET Support asked me to run programs to list of every single piece of...
It's must be easy to make an intuitive firewall if you know what you're doing. Symantec FW is crap, but it sets itself up 100% and new programs...
ESET hasn't lost me yet, I've upgraded back to V2.7 for now, but I'll be gone like a flash if they don't quit the bullshit and admit there are...
Then we'll have to agree to disagree. Fixing 1 bug among the dozens reported right here in this Forum does not immediately fill me with a warm glow.
If you have a multiple computer LAN Update licence for NOD32 you can't even get v3 to run properly over your network, never mind about ESS. No...
Don't hold your breath waiting for it to be fixed. I waited for an oversight on the part of ESET to be addressed for years. ESET always knows what...
I cant believe I just said that. I used to be a NOD32 fanboi. I must be suffering from PESSDS --- Post ESET Smart Security Depression Syndrome. :(
With all the bugs flying around ATM, upgrading at all is a no brainer. Stick with V2.7 and you'll be OK. Upgrade at your peril.
The short and sweet answer is "It was released!" :(
There were so many OLD problems being discussed, ESET was stupid to release the program when it did. The NEW problems are a bonus. :(
Covering their asses! :) :)
The Power of One. :) Someone said only 10% of ESS users are having problems. ESET claims 25,000,000 licensed users, so 2,500,000 must have...
It will take ESET years to regain the reputation it lost this week! Habsucht saugt!
I did, but that's not a very good answer and it doesn't fix the bugs.
They should change it to "These first release versions may be less than 10% bug-free!" :( I upgraded to V2.7.
I think the free upgrade is available only for Australia, but the upgrade path is not sorted out yet.
