uninstall ewido

I recently uninstalled AVG and when I tried to reinstall I was told that I had to uninstall ewido anti spyware and ewido anti mal ware but I have not been able to find out how to do this
Can anyone advise me please

1.are you sure you unistalled?
2.Did you reboot before trying to reinstall?

 

Ok your not the only one with this problem i woke up this morning and uninstalled some hp camera programs and all of a sudden avg7.5 wouldnt work. it said uninstall and re in stall so i uninstalled and rebooted and went to install the new 8 and bam it said that i need to uninstall ewido.......... antispy ware malware....... wont do it........ jsut wont........ now what?

 

Try cleaning up files/folder remains left behind another words delete them.you should clean them also from the registry keys. local_current _user/software and local_machine/software.then try a new Install.

 

Ok, so i tried a ccclean up thingys..... and also looked in registries... and big fat nothing.. the cccleaner cleaned up but... it still dosent work. i really dont get it.........

 

You can try grisoft help forum I think there are some on going issues of unistall/install problems.

 

labo.... techinical support? how many ppl use your free services? there is no support for that let alone forums..... thats why i was asking here. but i did find that file........ lol. that umm is nice to see.

Please check if there are any ewido Installations folders in your Program Files folder (you can use also the Windows search functions to find them), then check if there a uninstall.exe in the Installation folder, if yes please run it.
If not, but you have an ewido Installation folder in your Program Files folder, then try to remove it manually, but please check if there are also no running ewido processes in the background.
Then open the Windows Registry editor (regedit.exe) to locate the ewido Keys.
The keys can be found in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
e.g.:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ewido
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ewido anti-spyware
for AVG AS:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Grisoft\AVGAntiSpyware
and then remove only this Key.

DO NOT remove other keys in the registry, only this ewido key.
