Is it possible to force MS Edge to run in a Sandbox each time MS Edge is opened? I tried this with my existing Sandboxie (Last Sophos download version) and had some issues. Also, I am thinking about switching from Sandboxie (Last Sophos download version) to Sandboxie-Plus in the near future. Questions concerning migration from Sandboxie (Last Sophos download version) to Sandboxie-Plus: 1. Is the Sandboxie INI file compatible with Sandboxie-Plus? 2. Should I uninstall the existing Sandboxie, reboot, and then install Sandboxie-Plus and then configure Sandboxie-Plus from the beginning? 3. Any other tips/suggestions? Thanks in Advance.
1) Yes 2) uninstall n' restart = Yes after Sandboxie uninstall...scour Program Files for remnants. Sandboxie Classic installs to Sandboxie folder. Sandboxie-Plus installs to Sandboxie-Plus folder. 2) configure Plus from the beginning = I'm using same Sanboxie.ini from long before Plus with Plus builds. If you feel better starting over...start over. 3) backup your C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini...just in case. 3) with Plus installed - familiarize/check Plus Options & Sandbox Options to your preference. - Plus installer detects Classic and prompts uninstall. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...ith-signed-driver.434924/page-41#post-3015732
If you just want a (security and compatibilty wise) patched sandboxie you could also use sandboxie classic. It's from the same dev as sandboxie plus but without the new gui and additional features.
Yes, agree. Since, TheKid7 has been holding on to 5.33.6 this long. Sandboxie Classic 5.50.8 may be best, at this time. Note: Plus users may run Plus UI or Classic UI.
To go from Sandboxie 5.33.6 to Sandboxie Classic 5.50.8 just install over the top? Thanks in Advance.
I uninstalled Sandboxie 5.33.6, rebooted and installed Sandboxie Classic 5.50.8. I configured from scratch and have not put as many restrictions as before. I think that my problem with MS Edge is that Sandboxie did not have enough space allocated. I added more space and MS Edge seems to be working OK Sandboxed. Thanks.
