    This update introduces improvements to stability, compatibility, and debugging tools, addressing several reported issues affecting various applications and sandbox configurations.

    This release also includes a rework of CreateDesktop handling, which addresses various issues encountered with browsers and browser-based applications when running within Sandboxie. These changes should result in improved stability and functionality for affected software. Furthermore, a missing hook for NtQueryInformationByName has been implemented to enhance overall system compatibility.

    Several bugs have been resolved in this update. An issue where the Sandboxie Plus data folder was not functioning correctly after updating to version 1.15.5 has been fixed. Additionally, crashes affecting Adobe Acrobat Reader when used within an Application Compartment box have been resolved.

    Compatibility issues with Viber have also been fixed, ensuring that the software no longer crashes upon launch within Sandboxie. Users of qutebrowser will benefit from a fix that now allows the browser to run properly in a sandboxed environment. A problem preventing applications from launching when ApiTrace was enabled in version 1.15.5 has also been resolved. Lastly, a critical fix has been implemented to prevent blue screen errors (BSoD) when using OpenWndStation=y on Windows 10 with applications that call CreateDesktopW/A.

    This release provides key stability and usability improvements for Sandboxie Plus, ensuring better compatibility across a range of applications.

    If we don't find any major issues with that release I'll push it to the stable update channel

    Re-the above post.
    On a Win 11 machine updating over the top from 1 15.4 to 1.15.6 all data was moved correctly to the Xanasoft folder.

    Yes if the new folder already existed because it was re created instead of being moved then you end up with 2,
    you can delete the old one manually

    File migration size.
    I seem to be getting 2113 errors when saving a file. Downloaded a picture, the size was around 8MB and my file migration size is over 88MB.
    Any reason for this happening? See screenshot plus error txt.

    • This is not an error; it is just a notification.
    • It’s likely that the “NotifyNoCopy=y” setting is enabled.
    • During the download process, iconcache/thumbcache files are likely accessed by the browser, causing them to be copied to the sandbox as empty files. (see File Migration > Show Templates)

    It has only just appeared with 1.15.6. Didn't see it before then.

    Where is 'NotifyNoCopy setting?
    The nearest I can find is under File Migration that says 'Prompt user for large file migration'... it was only 8MB (setting was pre-ticked)

    Or these in Sbie+.ini
    ShowMigrationProgress=true
    ShowNotifications=true

    "Issue message 2113/2114/2115 when a file is not fully migrated" (at the bottom of the window or the edit ini section in the global settings)

    Sorry I am not quite clear what you mean.
    Should that option be here?

    Right click on the sandbox > Sandbox Options > File Options > File Migration > Issue message 2113/2114/2115 when a file is not fully migrated

    @busy. I love screenshots :)

    Mine is not ticked. Is that how it should be?

    (you can go for a lie down when this is sorted, I think you might need it :D)

    @stapp :)

    If that setting is not enabled, the notification might have appeared while Vivaldi was running in a different sandbox, or the setting could have been defined in a custom template. The most reliable way to check is by searching for the setting in the Sandboxie.ini file.

    To do this, go to 'Options > Edit Sandboxie.ini', which will open Notepad. Then, press 'Ctrl+F' and search for NotifyNoCopy=y, then click 'Find Next.'

    I have sorted it :thumb:
    I downloaded the same file (a desktop wallpaper) on both my machines this morning Win 11 and Win 10.
    I must be honest with you and let you know that I have been reading the troubleshooting steps on the wrong machine.

    Hope you will forgive me.

    Hello David and Good Afternoon (or at least time-wise it is now in the increasingly perilous US of A). I've got two words for you. THANK YOU!! I'm one of your most appreciative fans and follow your posts religiously here on Wilders. It's always the trend when you release and post a new thread about a new version of Sandboxie; the thread(s) immediately commence with critical inquiries, at times tepid suggestions, and occasionally circular (we'll leave Pretzel Logic to Steely Dan) logic. I'll maintain the opinion that Sandboxie is a top five contender as the most critically important application that graces the pages of Wilders Security Forums. So, again, Thank You x infinity.

    After this or the previous version, not sure which, on Quick Recovery I seem to have lost the options for "Recover & Explore", "Recover & Open/Run" etc.

    I recall there is a setting somewhere as it's happened before, but I can't find it. Anyone?

    Thanks. I did search but this didn't come up - presumably wrong search criteria.

    My question back in 2021 :D but I still can't find the setting now. I assume it is still there, but so many options/settings. I looked at the -Plus ini directly to no avail; doesn't mean not there though.

    David, can you help me please?
