Research AI model unexpectedly modified its own code to extend runtime

    and so the AI demonstrates that it thinks like managers and politicians.
    When a problem occurs change the goalposts instead of fixing the problem.
    That way we get to call it a feature not a bug.

    I, Robot, The Terminator, etc... I hope they never give this stuff control of anything dangerous. :eek:
