After some weeks with Chrome i am enjoying Opera again. Chrome is only faster on heavy javascript pages other than that Opera is really fast showing up the webpages in a turbomode :thumb:

Awesome, it fixed the favicon bug I was experiencing. The search engines' favicon in Opera's quick find box were wrong and/or missing. Now they're fine! :D

Agreed and the euphoria is over once the hype settles in.

Whats the difference between the classic installer and the "regular" one?

The classic installer uses the old WISE installer Opera has always used. The regular installer uses Windows Installer (MSI).

Now each have its own advantages and inconveniences. My first raison to prefer classic is 'cause I don't like to look at the mess let in my registry when using msi installers, but there is more than that and if you perform a search here or google for it, you should find a bagful of thorough info. It's an old debate bringing own afficionados on either side.

***Caution - Possibly stupid questions to follow!***

If a user has initially installed Opera via one type of installer and wanted to upgrade Opera could he do so via the other type of installer? Would it harm the installation or a future uninstall? Should a user stick to the same installer for upgrading after having used it for the initial installation?

    Thanks

It helps to keep the installer same, you may skip the international version if you use English, but thats about it. If you use only single profile then it should be a non issue.

I've installed the English beta's first and afterwards the international release version.
Wouldn't make a difference, doesn't cause any problem and it just works. :thumb:

I was speaking of switching between the Wise installer and the MSI installer not just between different language installations.

I had 9.60 installed and upgraded that to 9.61, I still prefer Firefox, but also prefer Opera over IE. I have all three installed and available.

I'm just starting to get my feet wet with the newest beta FireFox and like it so far, but i too have always kept 0pera at the ready. It should be interesting to see how far along 0pera is come in this latest release. Gonna give it a try myself.
