picture attached. just an update on how my SSD's are doing just in case anyone was wondering how much writes they can take. still going strong shame i could not get the read data for the intel SSD, estimates put it at 52420GB or 51TB's
Thanks Treehouse. Now I have another new technology to worry about. I was certain that SSD's were the failsafe way to go for never ending speed, reliability and functionality. Your post prompted me to spend an hour reading about how SSDs become less reliable with use and how they can become spontaneously prone to failure. Now and my perception about them has completely changed. Last week I was reading about how Macs with OS X are being attacked with more malware than ever before. This week it's about the questionable life span and long term reliability of SSDs. Why didn't I stick with worrying about Windows malware? Ignorance was bliss.
@ MR Helix and TheKid7 i got that screenshot from an ipad app you can also use this for windows. the single exe portable version is available from my sig @ SoCalReviews glad i got you thinking
i got it in october 2010 and the intel SSD is about 12 months older than that. the OCZ is my game storage drive and the intel is my OS drive. the intel is older and has seen much more use (daily full disk imaging). the OCZ has never been imaged.
