I just purchased KAV from newegg but I am not sure how I am supposed to get my key. The order status directs me to where I can download version 5 but I don't know where to get the keyfile I can use on version 6.

Could be that the key is zipped up in the package you download from newegg. Open the complete package with a zip utility, see if the key is there :)

Well the file that I was directed to was an exe file (kav5.0.388_personalen_1y) I don't think there could be a key file in there.

I guess I posted to soon. I was curious and extracted the exe in case and the key file was there. Thanks for your help. Is there a way to make this (the fact that the keyfile is inside the executable) more accessible. Maybe it will help others.

I was able to extract the key file and successfully active KAV 6 but I was wondering if there was anyway to edit it. The owner of the keyfile is listed as: DRCC. Shouldn't my name be there?

No, these (old) key files are "named" to the distributors. The key-file together with your receipt of payment are your license.

Oh okay. That seems kind of odd.

I just meant that it seems odd that I am not listed as the owner even though I paid for the licence.

OK. I still don't see the problem. Enjoy the KAV experience :)

Oh, there's really no problem. That was just a little thing that irked me.

Seems like there was a post about 2-3 weeks ago with the same thing in it. The person emailed KAV support and they said it was normal, however, after so many days....it would show the correct info within the program as to who it was registered to. Do a search here or maybe Don will stop by and confirm.
