So I tried Exact Audio Cop and it was so complicated to setup and didn't even allow me to rip to MP3 selecting the bitrate that I want, it had them rated in khz which were kind of loseless large mp3s but I couldn't for the life of me firgure out how to choose the bitrate.

I didn't wanna waste any more time and wanted a straight forward program

    any good recommendations out there?

    Thanks

CDex has worked well for the small amount of ripping that I do.

    I use freac http://www.freac.org/

IMO, it offers a nice blend of simple yet flexible setup. Plus it can also be portable on a USB stick if one so desires...

I was almost gonna install that but I hate programs that require to download extra plugins for them to work properly

At this day and age, it is sad for a program to require you to download anything for it to function :(

Guess Im gonna have to bite the bullet and purchase Easy CD-DA Extractor as I've used it in the past years and liked it

If rip accuracy is important the best are Exact Audio Copy (free) and dBpoweramp (paid). No other applicaiton comes even close. Also, they are the only two applications (currently) that use the AccurateRip database.
I would still recommend Exact Audio Copy as it's excellent and free. You can find various setup guides here. Yes, it's slightly more complicated than some other rippers but in my opinion it's worth the time to learn to set it up. If you're going to purchase something, I'd suggest it be dBpoweramp.

Hmm, this one's interesting, Ill give it a try before I purchase Easy CD-DA Extractor coz it looks simple from the screen shots I saw on Google and has the option to choose the quality easily

EDIT: Tried it, got this error: "Unable to LOAD Aspi Drivers, /CD Ripping Disabled" WTF

    Uninstalled, POS software

Sorry but the first time I tried it I hated it and how many options I had to setup just to get it started. Then I couldnn't even choose the MP3 Rip quality easily such as other programs allow you to.

    Not gonna bother with it

Im gonna download the demo of dBpoweramp however and test it. Hope it doesn't require you to reinvent the wheel to use it.

EDIT: Nevermind, couldn't find a link to the demo

    Are you freaking kidding me?!?
It's literaly 2 clicks for crying out loud. Just click Learn More under CD Ripping on the main page and then Install. If you couldn't find that I kind of doubt you would be able to work with any CD ripper.

Ok I ended up purchasing dBpoweramp since Easy CD Creator's developer was taking ages to process my order and when I asked on their forums a moderator deleted my entire thread!

That's what a I call crappy support! Thank god the order didn't go through!

    Thanks for all your suggestions

It's both. It can rip cds, convert files, play files from archives, rename, move files. All kind of crazy stuff.
