My BBQ thermometer uses, Bluetooth transmitted to iPhone. It loses signal approx 20 feet from where I need to be. Any easy way to extend the range, nothing would plug into the extender. Thanks Rico
That does not help us any when we don't know how far away from the grill. It would also help to know what version of Bluetooth. The original v1.0 only had an effective range up to 33feet. The latest version, v4.0 has a theoretical range up to 200 feet - but that is under ideal conditions.
Grill to desired monitoring location approx. 50 -- 70' two walls standard outside & in house wall construction Bluetooth 4.1
Well, if it works fine when you are standing near the grill, then the problem most likely is that distance and the two barriers (walls) in between. Note the contents of those walls (metal pipes, wires, and studs) can affect how much they attenuate the signal too. There are Bluetooth repeaters/range extenders.
