I believe posting pics of the GUI is against their policy or whatever so the images might get removed (I think we need permission?). Idk, but I remember that is what happened last year for the 2012 beta.

Wow, totally new GUI. Very nice! :thumb: :thumb: I like the old one, but the new one is definitely more modern looking. Pretty sharp.

Still has a number of processes, but very low memory usage. About 12meg for me.

Now off to throw some malware at it.

Generally how long is the closed beta before open beta?

    Looks very windows-8 like.

I'm still very unsure about the look of windows 8, whilst the whole 'tiles' thing work great on phones and tablets, it just looks weird on a PC. :doubt:

Cool, though not so cool since i can't see the interface. Still, any words about ID Protection module? Any improvements in that department?

  11. I'm liking the new AVG GUI at the moment. :)

For anyone that wants to see the new GUI, there is at least one youtube video out there showing it.

they are following the trends of the new graphics. Many vendors are showing up new GUi -s to make their products more attractive .

Am i the only one who thinks whole Metro thing is retarded? Why on earth they've traded fantastic looking Aero Glass for this Metro thing which is so 1990's... Ok we get it, flat looks ok on phones. But we don't want this garbage on desktop systems. Especially since you have to scroll desktop using slider bar. Seriously, if you can swipe the screens using finger on phones, why can't we do the same with mouse on desktop? I felt like a retarded orangutan moving that stupid slider down on the bottom. And using arrow keys is no better.
I'll stick with Win7 and i'm glad that avast! isn't going the Metro way...

I have been testing the new AVG 2013 beta. So far it has missed infected attachments in my outgoing email (this option was selected in settings) and it has had a number of FP's including a major one that almost bricked my computer because it said that I had a rootkit infection in the kernel. My system is clean according to all other scans (Malwarebytes, Hitman, etc). It also seems to miss the eicar test files until they are actually run and the anti-spam marks everything as spam even at the lowest level. And to top it off I REALLY hate the new gui - a real deal breaker for me.

agree metro SUCKS big time. its so stupid like why are we going backwards to days of lesser graphics...

anyway using the new beta at the moment and i personally dont like the gui even with the extra icons and stuff i like the old one better and i didnt really like that one if that says anything. first off the blackish backround almost everyone wants to use now i cant stand. and second this reminds me of a mix of bitdefender and the new panda. i would have preferred the old gui over this.

It's just an antivirus.....the only thing that matters if it works well or not...
