I've written an enthusiastic review of Cinnamon, a new desktop interface and a fork of the Gnome Shell, originally developed by Linux Mint, designed to provide modern yet traditional environment similar to Gnome 2, covering installation, look & feel, customization, themes, applets, extensions, system responsiveness, suggestions for improvement, the future, and more. So perhaps there's some hope left. Read on.

Mrkvonic, you should also note Cinnamon can also be installed on OpenSUSE 12.1 from the repositories.

Cinnamon - second tour, looking even better

Here's the second enthusiastic review of Cinnamon, a new desktop interface and a fork of the Gnome Shell, showing additional tweaks and visual polishes on top of Linux Mint 12 Lisa. Good just got gooder. Not a typo.

3rd the problem i seen on mrk review that not enough spacing between icons can be solve on tweaks given on cinnamon site also those who are lazy like me and want simple solution

install theme called Baldr & Loki it default done all tweak this theme got more spacing than normal ones

here in picture you notice lot of spacing between panel icons ;)

Cinnamon 1.4 - Stairway to Heaven

OK, here's another highly enthusiastic review of the Cinnamon user interface, this time the very recent version 1.4, tested on Linux Mint 12 Lisa 64-bit, with many new improvements and features included, like visual tweaks, new configurations, system area control applet, ability to restart or revert changes, panel edit mode, Scale and Expo desktop effects, additional system integration, and more. Really great.

Re: Cinnamon 1.4 - Stairway to Heaven

I knew you would never leave Linux for Windows or anything else. There are times you may get angry with Linux and be upset when it comes to purity and perfection. However, Linux is in your blood, it is in your DNA. Simply put, you are Linux man!!! :D.

    Thanks. :D.
