What are the "Must Have" extensions for Firefox

you know the one's

particularly in the area's of ad-blocking and privacy, but anything you have become hooked on might be something worth looking at.

I have to admit, I have a pretty bare bones setup, and am pretty happy with it. I just wonder if I couldn't be even happier!

For me, you need NoScript, AdBlock plus + Filterset G Updater, Refcontrol, Spoofstick and Extended Cookie Manager for privacy and security of your browser

I think that's it so far.
I'm sure though there's still more to come.

I've been looking for Spoofstick in the Extension pages, but I think it said no longer available or I cannot find it.
I have the latest browser version.
Where did you get Spoofstick from ? I know..dumb question.

I frequently used ScrapBook - as I can copy and captures everything in the webpages if I want to.

ImgLikeOpera - if I am only interested to surf not to include pictures or images and speed up my browsing.

SpoofStick - to at least know what really is the real name of the site I am visiting.

FoxClocks - to know the time in different parts of the world...

Though I have many extensions... ...but the above I think is the most important must have for me. Coz other extensions may sometimes are very annoying. Besides, I have some other programs that handles security and privacy in my pc.

I agree - although I don't know why Flashblock is necessary since Noscript can block Flash and other plugins, too.

Noscript can allow / block flash from running on the page.
With Flashblock you can decide which one you want to view.
Imagine a page with 10 flashes.
You allow them with Noscript, but then you get the play button used by Flashblock. Then you can click each one individually and see them, rather than all of them. Reduces a bit of clutter and adds more control over content. Not crucial, but useful. I have no fear from flash, I just hate seeing them.

Thanks for the Spoofstick link, ronjor. Too bad the Mozilla people, for whatever reason, don't want to recognize it so you have to go "outside" to get it for FF 1.5.x.

Flashblock seems to kick up my firefox memory usage, but you can create a UserContent.css in the Chrome Folder of the Profile Folder and include this code:

I also uses Fasterfox before but found out that it slowed down my surfing... so I switch to FireTune for firefox and now I think it's much more faster.

 

Thanks for the replies everyone. Firefox has done a great job so far for me as far as malware is concerned. Something did try to install itself the other day, but it was blocked. Still I figure I better make sure it is set up right.

The "ShowIP" extension is also very interesting, and like Spoofstick, can be used to detect phishing (direct Whois etc):
