mackish kinda buttons it was pain at start installing xfce themes but after that i guess its one of smooth and best light wait desktop i ever used if you have 512 ram + 2gb swap and want to learn little then this one is not bad you can do everything or at least 90% that could be done on normal gnome 2x desktop note: for install themes what is did is i create a launcher by right clicking and then in command create "gksudo thunar" name it "Root-File-Manager" after that i open files in root from it and right click extract and copy paste themes to usr/share/themes and icons to usr/share/icons just like windows
one more edit: also this one i guess this is best i can queeze out of xfce on ram 384 so i guess with ram 512 and 2gb swap it work ok on old pc/laptop

Fedora 16 KDE with razor-qt DE and openbox. All fairly standard looking but running very well. While it's not without it's bugs and quirks which is understandable as it's in alpha, I could really get used to razorqt.
how about this one pretty very stable so far i running it from remastersys dvd its 1.3 gb so far the only problem i face is few icons problem with other themes as themes i install is not xfce and icons i mannualy copy paste but so far very good
