What's new in TI 11 Build 8101 (US)

I love TI 11 Build 8101: the 8053 had some problems with my SATA hard disk, and was not able to create the Manage Secure Zone; moreover, it needed a very long time, booting from cd, to see the hard disk. Now all run perfectly.

 

Wow, are you talking about the boot disk? If so, this means they actually updated some of the linux hardware drivers. I didn't see that on any of my machines; ATI11 still doesn't work on most of them. But if they updated any at all, that's some encoragement that ATI 8101 wasn't just a release so Acronis could say it did a release before it came out with a new version.

 

I actually have 8101 without a std.. Vista CD. But. could you please explain how to change the BCD file. Both before and after restore. I have a VistaPE CD (thanks to you)

 

Does this build correct the USB device disconnect error? Acronis tells me it did, but I'd rather hear it from somebody here.

Lately I started using Shadowprotect to restore my computer. I am not sure if I am ready to go back to TI. It's going to be hard for me to regain the confidence I once had in this program.

 

I tried to test that but this version/build still doesn't see my drives so I can't restore to find out. That, imo, is a much bigger prob for ATI to address.
If ypu're comfortable with SP, I'd stick with it at least until a decent build or version of ATI is released -- or unless you can find ATI10.

 

The easiest way (if possible) is to make the change before you image the drive. See this thread: Fix Vista so a Repair is not needed after a restore or clone

You can do the changes afterwards using a VistaPE CD, but the procedure is a little different because you need to reference the correct BCD file. For example, if your Vista partition is C: when you boot to your VistaPE CD, you'll need to reference the BCD file located in the C:\boot folder:

All I did was install with the default setting , I don't recall the safe mode option , it might on been selected . Any ways if I boot with the rescue disk ? I see build 8101 .

 

I found a machine I could test this on and the answer is no, the prob isn't fixed. ATI still fails to properly terminate the Storage volume ID.

 

Saving SystemState still doesn't work in Vista. I tried disabling compression and even setting the affinity to one core but to no avail.

 

Hmmm, if you made a bootCD with ATI 11 8101, then the version number you should shee when you boot the CD is ATI11 build 8054.
