    1. Copy and Paste the Username and Password that was emailed to you from a NOD32 Reseller, NOD32 Distributor or from ESET themselves; this is totally dependent upon how you purchased your license for NOD32.

    2. Click on "OK".


    See HERE for instructions on how to enter a Username and Password correctly.

    1. When complete NOD32 will have the current "Virus signature database".

    Please NOTE: this screenshot shows a virus signature update that is now OLD.

    2. "Full version" will no longer appear.

    3. Click on "Setup".

    EMAIL NOTIFICATION BY SMTP


    For those wanting to be notified of warnings that NOD32 generates you can do the following:


    1. Click on NOD32 System Setup.

    2. Click on "Setup".

    1. Click on the "Notifications" tab.

    2. Place a tick in "Send notifications via SMTP".

    3. Enter the following details:

    Server = the SMTP Server that is used to send email. This is generally the same "Outgoing" Mail Server used to send email from your computer.

    Sender = Who you want the email to come from.

    Send threat warnings to = the email address where you want to receive email notifications generated by NOD32.

    Send other warnings to = the email address where you want to receive email notifications generated by NOD32.

    User name = Some Outgoing SMTP Servers require authentication, if this is the case then enter this here.

    Password: = Some Outgoing SMTP Servers require authentication, if this is the case then enter this here.


    4. Click on "OK".

    The 2nd of 2 emails should also have arrived, being a "NOD32: Alert".


    Please NOTE: You may have to reboot your computer in order for this SMTP Notification to take effect in NOD32. I had to with my system after a great deal of investigation and help by others.
