Thought it might be the cause of my problem.
    Thanks

I am sure it has been asked, but I could find it in the thread.

Does AX64 image allow for hardware independent upgrades? I am upgrading my computer and would like to do an image. I have ShadowProtect, but I am sick of having to ask every time I change anything on my computer.

Hi chennemann, here is a response relevant to your inquiry. Realcopy may work if you are not migrating from an XP or prior system:

new version was promised "in a week" about an month ago..
this software has so many bugs i don't dare to trust it.
for example i was trying to restore 2nd and 3rd latest snapshot, and it gave
me some error messages about them and couldn't restore them.
I'm gonna stick with the free aomei partition backup until you get all
    the bugs fixed.
    No offense.

I am sure that the reason they don't want to release it yet is because there are still bugs. It is unreasonable to expect them to "get all the bugs fixed" as all software has bugs. The website said one to four weeks, which I am pretty sure hasn't passed yet..

    Hi BG,

Thanks for great explanation! :thumb: As taotoo mentioned AX64 excludes pagefile and hiberfile.

Sorry zach I don't have an answer right now. Each of the programs has its own peculiarities, and there maybe situations when one of them works and another doesn't.

    Hi apaert,

What error are you receiving? Could you file a support ticket and attach the logs? Thank you
BTW if MerleOne's suggestion works please let me know.

This component is responsible for mounting the backups. It only engages when you press Mount button in Backup browser. I'm sure this has no relation to failing backup.

    chennemann,

As mentioned by Werderforever it doesn't. However if you have Windows 7, then most likely restore to a new hardware will work just fine. Win 8 is even better - I haven't seen any restore to a different hardware that failed to work.
The only OS that really needs hardware independent restore is XP.

    Greets Strode.

Isso and team are extremely efficient and best in addressing customer concerns, suggestions, and above all problems and will go to lengths to make it right.

It does require some patience on our end because you have no idea of the work load that they're technical efforts demand of them.

I wouldn't be so quick to make haste just yet. It's a sure guarantee yours and all other's issues is a top concern they will address and remedy if possible.

I can say that in complete confidence because unbeknowns to most, Isso always remained tightly focused on resolving matters even back in UltimateDEFRAG days little remembered now but i was there then just like now.

Hang in there and you'll see.

    Hi Stode,

Sorry for those problems and for delaying the release. We are doing our best to iron out the bugs as soon as possible.

Thanks, Isso, and just to be sure what you meant about XP...

If I make an AX64 copy of my XP OS drive and "transfer" it to my new secondary hard drive on my new Win 7 Pro system (so I can boot the XP system up when needed for legacy programs), do I have to wait for the new release of RealCopy TimeCopy? Or will AX64 work for this now? I think I understood Waj to say I can't do it.

Whoa, some of you. As I have said many times at Wilders: If you don't have patience then you should not even be using a computer. These folks are not only trying to fix bugs in a program that is still in version 1, but are trying to merge two companies together. Sheesh! I hope you keep your promises better then these overworked and stressed out folks do, get humble before life humbles you. (We are NOT talking about politicians breaking their promises here, just real people trying to eat while working in a frenzy).

    That's spot on Acadia!

It's safe to say that we're all holding our breath with exciting anticipation of what's to slide out the conveyor next but geeeshh! let's try to avoid crowding these poor guys time by expressing frustrations as if they're tip towing around the tulips.
You said it best in that they're not only feverishly correcting and recoding AX64 to seal up issues but in all that also balancing the details and assets to.assure a seamless merger.

Sorry to ask but are you sure it was not Win8.1 rather than Win8 (not suggesting you are stupid or anything and do not know what is on your system) but AX64 is currently not compatible with AX64 (but soon will be) according to the website. :D

I guess I'll stick with what I have. Maybe somewhere down the line I'll try AX64 again.
    Thanks

    Hey guys.

To help make matters, especially any AX64 issues a little easier and faster to resolve between the current changeover transition and the work on it's next release, it seems to me it would be of immense help and a deserved courtesy to Isso and Team for customers/users to please also post your current operating system for him that can make a difference in their troubleshooting surprise issues that are bound to surface.

Microsock as any one well knows doesn't exactly make it that so reasonable for these developers of any programs to easily retrofit their finished versions yet again to balance the compatibility required to equally spread across all these different platforms.

I hope this makes some sense in answering the reasons what, when, why, and how.

    Regards EASTER

    HI
I've been absent for a while.
No error occours, just the console-window flashing and disappearing again.
    I didn't test MerleOne's suggestion yet.
I tent to wait for an working Version for Win 8.1 and set up my OS from scratch.
