    Profits, as the article points out, are certainly a factor, but...politics makes strange bedfellows.

    Honestly, 99% users do not care about privacy or tracking, unless media makes it a thing for a day or so. And those who do, know how to protect themselves. People I know do not even update phones OS, because it is inconvenient.
