The text on the Updates tab in V6.0 is illegible when using the Clear theme - see attached image.

The color of the text should be changed from white to black against the light gray background of the Clear theme. Dark theme is OK.

Looks like a theme issue indeed. I think the theme changed occured after the items were populated, we'll see how this can be fixed (refreshing lots of items would take quite some time)

EDIT: For some reason I couldn't reproduce. Is this issue happening all the time ?

Small "bug" if you have selected small icons in the taskbar:

 

I am on Ucheck 5.8.2.0.

I was presented with an update for Crystal Disk Info.



When I click on Open Website it takes me to Tracker Software PDF-XChange Editor.

The latest version of CrystalDiskInfo is 9.5.0. The latest version of PDF-XChange Editor is 10.5.0.393. I have PDF-XChange Editor in my exlusion list..

Just an FYI that I currently run CrystalDiskInfo Portable v9.5.0 from a removable USB stick, and UCheck Free Portable 64-bit v5.8.2.0 (as well as BETA v6.0.0.0) correctly detects that CrystalDiskInfo Portable v9.5.0 is the latest available version per the release notes <here> and that Crystal Dew World is the company.

Also note that the Portable build of CrystalDiskInfo is classified as a "Community" app by UCheck.

Yes... I have 9.5.0 as I mentioned. The odd thing for me was only that Ucheck was telling me to update to 10.5.0.393 and that the Open Website link was going to the wrong place. I thought Tigzy would want to know.

I just closed UCheck and reopened it and did a scan and the update does not show today. I guess it was a one time (or short time) glitch.

 

I now have a problem with an installed program. I just installed MusicBee version 3.6.9156.

I exited UCheck, restarted UCheck, and did a scan. The Installed tab shows version 3.5.8698 as being installed. It shows it was installed on 1/25/25, but I did not install it on that date. It was installed sometime last year... about 10/25/24.



Using Help > About for the program, it shows 3.6.9156 as the version installed and running.

 

Ah, that's a bug we've been tracking. How do you reproduce that, you change size of the taskbar ?

 

That's part of the intermittent odd things we're trying to chase. If you re-scan do you still have this entry ?
EDIT: OK I see your last comment. Yeah we've seen that in the past, it looks like entries are mixed (race condition) ? Since it's hard to reproduce it's hard to fix...

 

We are releasing the BETA version in PRODUCTION tomorrow !

It's a registry setting in Windows 11
You can find it at:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

and set TaskbarSmallIcons to 1

 

Well we just read information from what's in the uninstall key. So if the program wrote that date, we can't go against that :/

There was a discussion about how UCheck uses the version number in the registry entry for the uninstaller (i.e., versus the file version in the properties of the .exe executable) back in Oct/Now 2023. What version of MusicBee is currently listed at Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features - 3.5.8698 or 3.6.9156?

Tigzy can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the current version number shown in Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features is taken from the same registry entry for the uninstaller version that UCheck scans for, which is why both Control Panel and UCheck detect the old v8.5.8698. I'd suggest you contact the MusicBee software dev about this glitch.

All due respect, why would 65 pages of posters prefer this over Patch My PC? Softpedia, as an example, with the number of downloads and overall reviews by a wide margin in favor of Patch My PC speaks volumes as to why this is a legitimate question.
