    Thanks for the heads-up! It's a vulnerability with critical impact and exploited in the wild.

    There used to be an entry in `about:config`:
    Code:
    browser.tabs.cardPreview.delayMs
    But it is gone in newer versions... :thumbd:
    Open bug.

    it could be that it is also related to some windows settings, like the popup time for other menus in firefox
    Code:
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]
    "MenuShowDelay"="50"

    Thanks very much.

    Indeed, Enhanced Tracking Protection Strict mode doesn't say "blocks third-party cookie access", but it says "Cross-site cookies".
    This is the same as it was before.
    Also, if cross-site cookie access is blocked, I would say third-party cookie access is blocked.
    So, to me, it is not clear what changed.

    The same applies to ETP Custom mode, where there is the option to block "All cross-site cookies". In the past, it said "third-party cookies", but that changed some time ago.

    Hi mantra,
    Others may know more about Firefox ESR and Windows 7. I use Firefox 132 on Kubuntu.

    The Firefox ESR System Requirements page shows Windows 7 as supported Operating Systems for Firefox ESR 115.17.0.
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/desktop-esr/ -->
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/system-requirements/ -->
    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/115.17.0/system-requirements/

    If the update doesn't download and install the way it should, perhaps you can manually select, download, and install the latest version. (Select Platform, Language, and Download Now.)

    Same here. I am running FF 131.03 and third-party cookie access is already blocked under strict ETP, and it has been like this for a while now. I am not sure what was changed in FF 132 in this regards, and there is no information available on it. If someone does figure this out please do let us know.

    @mantra,

    The article that JRViejo quoted, says Firefox 115 ESR is available for Windows 7 until March 2025.
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support

    Did you notice my reply, and my suggestion in the last line?
    You can download from the Firefox ESR page.

    mantra, you can follow Stupendous Man's suggestions. Read this too: How to fix the Update Failed error message when updating Firefox

    Also, if you are updating using a VPN, you might need to turn it off so Firefox can see your location and provide the correct version for your language.

    It does not appear that:

    cross-site cookie = third-party cookie

    because if you test with the previous setting (in Italian it is called “normal” maybe in English = basic?) third-party cookies are allowed.

    P.S.

    They should change the instructions in the “Normal” setting.
    Or in the “Strict” and “Custom” setting.

    Thanks, Sampei Nihira.

    In English, the basic mode for Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection is called "Standard".

    And you may be right.
    While Firefox ETP Standard mode says to block cross-site cookies, with Standard mode enabled, the "Are Third-Party Cookies enabled?" test says "Yes".
    https://www.whatismybrowser.com/detect/are-third-party-cookies-enabled/

    If Firefox ETP Strict mode is enabled, the "Are Third-Party Cookies enabled?" test says "No".

    Hi @mantra,

    I had no problem on Win 7 Pro 64-bit.
    I manually downloaded version 115.17.0 : Firefox Setup 115.17.0esr.exe
    Then I upgraded: I installed it over the top of version 115.16.1

    Follow the advices already given by Stupendous Man and JR !
