    Already available in MS Store.
Interestingly, UBO in MS Store still has the featured badge.

As the kind of animated GIF image with an image URL that has no .gif in it (thus ||domain/*.gif$image cannot block it) kept bothering me on volkskrant.nl and trouw.nl, I had another look at the option that Jan Willy suggested.

In uBlock Origin settings, I set "Block media elements larger than 700 KB", but without checking the box, so it is not set globally for all domains.

Next, for both volkskrant.nl and trouw.nl, I toggled the per-site switch "Click to block large media elements on this site" and "Click to make your changes permanent", thus creating these new filtering rules in "My rules":
    no-large-media: www.trouw.nl true
    no-large-media: www.volkskrant.nl true

First, it looked like each time the pages were opened they needed a reload to hide the animated GIF images. But after Firefox was closed and opened again, the new uBlock Origin settings work perfectly to hide the annoying animated images on volkskrant.nl and trouw.nl. Great!

Thanks very much @Jan Willy for suggesting this solution. :thumb:

dropping support, ho-hum. i would say this definitely the end of uBoL, in any browser. users like to use it in any used browser, or never. i use uBo for firefox - but no longer in my working profile, not for edge. anyhow uBo is still installed and usable for comparison checks.

i think also, thats only a matter of time when google will insist on removing uBoL from its store with same reason. but if, and he wrote that uBo uses same files for years now, this could mean that also uBo has also a deadline.

pity, that he still refuses even with Robs answer which is exactly my experience with the human review team. uBo is best for any browser - as long MV2 is usable. but from my experience uBoL is no alternative to adguard as an ad blocker, sorry.

finaly there will only exists: uBo for firefox, and uBoL for chromium based. i dont like that choice.

    Hi
I was surprised that it doesn't update. I will install the original version.
    Thanks for the notice.

uBlock Origin 1.60 is now available for Firefox, no longer pending.

    (Firefox/ Extensions/ Manage extensions/ Tools for all add-ons (cogwheel)/ Check for Updates/ uBlock Origin 1.60.0 is offered)

    edge+adguard v5 = 8 blocks, no sponsored
    firefox 131 + adguard v4 = 13 blocks, no sponsored
    firefox 133 + uBo 1.59 = 14 blocks, sponsored visible
(nightly is the last version with uBo, no upgrade to 1.60)
i am going to replace extension by extension in edge to mv3 and thus ublock is discarded here in total, uBoL is bad joke - and no longer available for AMO users.

If and when uBO quits working, that's when I'm switching to Firefox. I'm not that crazy about Chrome anyway and this is the final nail in the coffin. uBO is one extension I intend to keep using, Google can bite me.

You may enable https://chromeenterprise.google/policies/ to extend MV2 availability in Chrome to 6/25.

I don't know if this belongs here, but I just noticed that Firefox 115.15 ESR doesn't display anything when I try to access apps.microsoft.com, even if I disable uBlock. The tab shows Microsoft Apps, but that's it. When I try it with chrome there is no issue. I have Edge installed, but I don't use it. Any ideas why nothing gets displayed with firefox?

Troubleshoot mode did not change anything..

    Hello @Adric:

Perhaps you have discovered an issue that is unique to the aged v115.15esr. All seems well with your example URL, with my FF v131.0.3. (With or without uBO v1.60.0)

Are you interested in trying the current ESR version, v128.3.1esr?

Moreover, I believe JavaScript needs to be enabled for your example URL if it is not already.

    @Adric,
I tested with Firefox 131.0.3 (snap version, on Kubuntu) and uBlock Origin 160.0 with all default filter lists plus some more, and I have no issue accessing apps.microsoft.com.
When in the uBlock Origin popup user interface I disable JavaScript and reload apps.microsoft.com, the page displays "This page requires JavaScript", and nothing else.

Did you check if any other Firefox add-on could be the cause of the issue?
If no other add-on is the cause of the issue, and if you have not disabled JavaScript, so you're sure that is not what is causing the issue, it may be as 1PW suggested: perhaps you have found an issue that is unique to Firefox 115.15 ESR.

Yes, v128.3.1 shows correctly with my v115 profile. I have it for testing and haven't migrated yet. I guess it's time. :ouch:

Interesting. When I turn off JavaScript via uBlock, I don't get that msg, instead I get a display, but not the way it should be shown. Get doesn't do anything on W10 LTSC 1809 (without store), but on W11, it opens the store for that app and starts to download which I paused and then canceled.

As I mentioned before. I ran troubleshoot mode (See about:support) which causes all your extensions, themes, and custom settings to be temporarily disabled to verify they were not the cause of not displaying anything. That site doesn't seem to like the JavaScript enabled when used with v115.

Ah, thanks, Adric. I didn't know troubleshoot mode disabled extensions.

1809 is more than dead, supposed not more compatible to most of the apps. some apps require 20H2 or 21H2 or higher, 1809 doesn't meet at least a lot of requirements.
in firefox you only get the online installer, not the msix/msixbundle.
    and more, to read
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode
if this mode does not resolve the issue, then try a fresh profile. if that does not help too, then its your system or some policies. currently there are no urgent issues to fix in firefox.
a fresh profile eliminates user made changes in prefs, or with user.js. most users forget this circumstance.

If I go to the Microsoft Edge add-ons and search for ublock origin on Win 10 or Win 11 I get this at the moment. Anyone else?
