    Actually @Sampei Nihira

I'm not sure I understand you correctly. I have that command line enabled for the edge launcher:

    Code:
    microsoft-edge --enable-features=EncryptedClientHello
Should I enter it somewhere else? I tried in the Terminal but it's not recognized.

    EDIT

Wait, hold on a sec. I entered in terminal what I placed in code tags and now I have success!

Strange it works from the terminal but not from the launcher with the exact same command??

    EDIT #2

Good grief, i was missing the quotation marks around Client Hello for the application launcher's command line

It's working now, as I post sheepishly :'( That said, I don't need the quotation marks for the terminal command line for some reason. Thanks again Sampei :thumb:

After this update ''Continue running Background Extensions'' under Edge settings--System and performance, had been turned back on.

Browsers with built-in VPNs — the new normal? Microsoft bakes a VPN into Edge and turns it on

Interesting development. I do know that the VPN in Opera sucked when I checked it out years ago. But I guess this stuff may come in handy sometimes, problem is I would like to use it for geo unblocking and the VPN in Edge doesn't offer this. But for hiding your IP it might be cool on certain sites.

Anyone else had Edge silently add itself to startup after an update? Really shady behavior from MS...

The October 6 update has had disastrous consequences for me on a laptop that has accounts both for my wife and myself. The update appeared to run normally, and indeed my wife's account is running the latest version just fine. In my account, however, it will not run at all. And there is no way to uninstall or reinstall it. I've tried all the 'repair' measures to no avail. The fact that the %^$#% thing is now bolted in place and can't be uninstalled for reinstall is yet more proof that Microsofters are too smart by half.

I appreciate the tip. Unfortunately, the laptop is my wife's workhorse machine, so it's tied up much of the time. I lay hands on it only as catch can.

One of the things I noticed was that the Edge package entries had somehow vanished from my account, so I tried rebuilding the package directory. It rebuilt, but refused to add the Edge entries with an error message I have not been able to follow up on. SFC and DISM see nothing amiss. I have come across a number of reports of Edge not working in the inbuilt admin account, so wonder if there might be some clues there.
