Yours are speeches only in general.
UBO works better in Firefox than in chrome-based browsers for that reason alone:

    https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox

No interference with blocking trackers in chrome-based browsers.
I could understand if the examples I brought were CNAME trackers, then ONLY based on the lists used,a question could be opened.

    Period.
This thread is NOT a discussion about UBO.
So I will no longer respond to replies where only UBO is mentioned and not the trackers blocking feature of browsers.

That's not one reason but several reasons mentioned in that site.

Well, it's you who confirmed that uBO is enabled. Evaluating and comparing results without considering this fact is pointless.

Certainly several reasons that have nothing to do with a possible interference in the functionality of browser trackers blocking.

I wrote that warning because the previous user writes me a meatloaf of reasons to his effect including even CNAME trackers when even cats know that browsers cannot block CNAME trackers.

    @ moderators

If the thread does not develop further it is of no use to either me or other forum members (who may have previously thought the topic interesting) and I would have grown tired of this controversy.

From my point of view, you have my permission to close the thread.

If you aren't prepared to test each browser without uBO, then I agree.

But what does UBO (and only UBO) have to do with blocking browser trackers?
What about those that use AdGuard?
Those who use certain DNS + lists?

Do any of these users use to disable these adblockers while browsing?

The topic would NOT be a contest between Firefox and Edge to evaluate which of the 2 browsers blocks more trackers.

But to highlight that the trackers blocked by Firefox in real conditions therefore with the presence of even an adblocker (I don't think there is any user in this forum who doesn't use any adblocker while browsing) are different from those blocked by Edge.

And this is despite the presence of UBO with the usual lists of filters.

I never wrote in all the posts in this thread that Edge blocks more trackers than Firefox.

    P.S.

If any member of this forum wants to do this competition,do it himself.
I am NOT interested in it.
You don't have to force me to do something that I don't think is interesting.

You can do this test yourself,if you like.
I will not write anything negative.

Now I'm really confused. Didn't you say this thread wasn't about uBO?

UBO is certainly not the protagonist.:)
But he is present in the film.:)

Other adblockers (with the usual lists of filters) in the 2 browsers would play the same role.

Sure. But the point is that with any other blocker enabled in the browser you can't reliably compare what is blocked by the built-in blockers because those blockers work in parallel. I don't know why that's so difficult to understand.

    You take this test.
And then write in the thread your conclusion.

I'm still confused, sorry. If you're going to test browsers and their blocking ability shouldn't you do so without extensions installed / enabled? Surely any results you get with extensions enabled will skew the results. You can't compare Firefox and Chromium based browsers with extensions for some reasons already mentioned.

Maybe I misunderstand the purpose of this thread? In that case I will happily bow out and watch from the sidelines again.

I'll give you an example so hopefully you'll understand my purpose,at least initial purpose of this thread.
    Google Safe browsing equips Firefox.
    Edge has SmartScreen filtering.
It is easy in this case to understand that the block lists are different.
Because the sources are declaratively different.

Does the trackers blocking functionality follow the same rule?
It is a privacy feature, not a security feature.

To say presumably yes and to say certainly yes is different.

If then the initial topic, thanks to the input of other forum members, develops perhaps even taking other paths and other conclusions are reached, welcome these new developments.:thumb:

Firefox and Edge both use the same list from Disconnect.

Well, there is at least some by built-in Firefox protections, because it is blocking Zopim tracking cookie:

I had to disable uBO and uMatrix, as well as my hosts file and after that Zopim was indeed blocked in Firefox.
    (before that nothing showed up)
Zopim (chatbot tracker) is in the Disconnect list.

I deleted my previous post because I understood (with difficulty) what you did.

Without UBO you will have had on the screen the pop-up shown by the arrow:

    4.jpg

If you had pressed X you would not have found the Zopim tracker.

The pop-up basically says that if you press the X you reject all cookies.

But no,after a few moments it reappears.
    Ahhhhhh........

    Ah, I see.
I found out now that the cookie popup was dealt with by "I don't care about cookies". :D
(I don't care if that extension accepts them, because Firefox rejects third party ones already)

About your now deleted screenshot; I saw uBO blocked 'static.zdassets.com' there (Web Widget Live Chat).
However here that one is green in uBO with updated lists...
    uMatrix blocks it of course.

It is not relevant is also blocked by UBO in Edge:

    5.jpg

Only Edge blocks the Zopim tracker while with FF + UBO it seems to vanish.

Yeah. To have at least partial compliance to GDPR when you first visit website you should have a way to read privacy policy before they start to collect data on you. They effectively give website visitor one last chance to close browser tab before it starts data collection.
However from that point tracking is opt-out at best. If you ignore popup and navigate to subpage or decide to not read them (X) or accept it then you effectively consented to terms of service. At least this is their interpretation.

    Mysterious...

Doesn't it show in Firefox with uBO completely disabled in 'about:addons'?
As I said before, both browsers use the same list from Disconnect.

There is also this Zopim script that seems to pass in both browsers when there is no Zopim.com blocking rule:

    6.jpg

I will almost certainly block Zopim.com in UBO in both browsers.
If you kindly want to check with your filter lists in UBO?
    TH.
