That's weird, is this in the latest beta version or what. I didn't see the HIPS and firewall, can you perhaps post a couple of screenshots?

Did you have VPN enabled at that time? This is weired we haven't encountered this issue yet. Why do you think this problem is caused by WiseVector's firewall?

 

Yes I was using a VPN. The only way I could get my internet working again, was to exit from WiseVector.

 

Strategically sound security program this WVSX. It is continuing to prove formidable and on most every level in the Windows system from 8 to 10 it's been uniquely silent until something sets off it's hair trigger. The firewall is equally proven instant in it's interceptions and the settings are reliable. No issues here.

@WiseVector what might further enhance it in your estimation

No, I was just running it with the default settings. This morning I had another issue. When connected to a VPN, my internet speed over Wi-Fi was about a third of the usual speed, but the speed was normal when not connected to a VPN. This was happening with two different VPNs. I exited from WiseVector and speed was back to normal. I was getting about the same speed with and without a VPN connection. I started WiseVector again and disabled web protection, and this time the speed was not affected. I'm not sure if the web protection was causing the drop in speed, or if it was just restarting WV that fixed the issue.

@WiseVector I had the same issue this morning, so I exited WiseVector - which fixed the issue, and haven't restarted it yet.

I'm having a similar issue.
Although not connected thru VPN,
WVSX massively slows down my upload speed, even if all right-click protections are disabled.
Quitting WVSX brings back regular upload speed. Sadly only 10 Mbits/s

You didn't answer my question. Is it possible to add a feature that will alert about banking trojans who have modified certain browser API's? You never know if WVSX will fail to protect against code injection, as you know in the last years a lot of new code injection techniques have been developed. Also, it would be nice if you could make a list of all behaviors that are monitored by the HIPS.

 

Is it reasonable and compatible to run WVSX with Binisoft WFC together? I really wouldn't want to part with WFC but it does work from Windows Firewall as a front end. I found WVSX Firewall exceptional on keeping a sharp tally on what might or might not be acceptable and is proven pinpoint perfect in keeping Network travelers honest or at least screened when it detects a potential security risk.

I don't think this is a FP, the AI thinks this program can't be trusted, but if the user knows what the program is, he can choose to allow it.

Sure, you can pair WVSX with WFC, can you tell me what features WFC can provide but WVSX can't?

 

We've tested over 30 times but still haven't seen any difference. We used Chrome + WIFI + Win10 X64.

 

Were you connected to a VPN? I had the same issue with two different VPNs, one was using OpenVPN and the other, WireGuard.

 

We found that the speed is unstable in most cases, sometimes when WVSX is off the speed is even slower than WVSX is on. But on average, there is only a minor difference.

To be perfectly honest with you I've not even considered that. In fact, WVSX is been picture perfect in every respect and frankly don't have any interest in comparisons, whatever they may be. Quite satisfied with BOTH!
