So you are saying that this "secret dll" wasnt used by any means in the portable version in the past? Is that right?
That is correct. I don't see it in any previous versions of the portable version of CCleaner stored in any of my backups.

Is it easy to cancel the subscription before it renews for another year for ccleaner pro. Ccleaner won't work in my standard user account so i have to get the pro version. I started the trial for the pro version and it works in my standard account.
I'm still using the portable version, and the good news is there are no more update prompts or offers to upgrade to the pro version, it is absolutely quiet...

I use Avast Driver Updater, which is the same as the driver updater in CCleaner. I only use it because I bought a license for a few dollars. Unless you are having issues with some devices, or your system is missing some drivers, it's probably best to avoid using such as tools, as they will sometimes cause issues. For example, sometimes they will install the wrong drivers, causing some devices to no longer work until a working driver is installed again.

Also having to rely on System Restore as a last resort to get functionality back to your borked machine after using a driver updater depends on Sys Restore being turned on and working.
