I suppose that this is a kind of update feature. I use SUPERAntiSpyware Free for on demand scans. I habitually set ASLR to mandatory. SUPERAntiSpyware worked fine with Windows 10 until a very few weeks ago. Then the scans suddenly crashed after a very short time. I set a Windows 10 exception (done via PC Settings->Update & Security->Windows Security->App & browser control->Exploit protection) for SUPERAntiSpyware.exe so that Mandatory ASLR was not applied to SUPERAntiSpyware.exe and found that scans could run through to completion again. The issue does not arise with SUPERAntiSpyware.exe on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, both of which are configured tp run with mandatory ASLR. I reported the problem to SUPERAntiSpyware, both by submitting the crash report (with my email address) and by a message to SUPERAntiSpyware technical support. I have not yet had a reply.
I had to upload something to VirusTotal (can one simply mention VirusTotal here? lol?) and noticed a new engine in town. SUPERAntiSpyware. And it correctly identified the harmless file. Not going to upload a snip because I'm not sure it's allowed.

I finally uninstalled SAS cookie muncher. It has never detected anything besides itself and cookies. It hasn't even found any of those for years so I don't think I'll miss it.
