    I ran across this article:

    https://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/16/google_chrome_unique_identifier_change/

and was curious if Google Chrome ever followed through with it. Google searches are neither confirming nor denying, so I decided to ask here. In current versions of Chrome, does the 'token' self-delete upon "initial update"?

If not, is this token in Chrome variants (SRWare Iron, Slimjet, Ungoogled Chromium, etc.)?

Thanks for the link. Looks like Google did not follow through, and remove it. That does not surprise me. If anyone finds out if the 'identifier' is in the Chrome variants, please let me know. I will continue to avoid Chrome, but I do use Slimjet and SRWare iron, and plan to add Ungoogled Chromium to my MX Linux soon.
