Looks like a very nice project. It beats the competition because it's supported Some other similar tools I tried only search for updates that were available until April this year. @Mister X Is there a source-code available for this program?
LOL if by supported you meant to say I'm the supporter, well I'm a novice on this tool. I started out for translation of ini file only, but other experienced user in here could help OR I can ask @stupid user. With respect to source code, let me ask the dev if it's available. I have been following the progress of this tool over at the MDL forums for a while now as well and am quite interested. It does work on Windows 10, yes. It is intended particularly for those using Windows 10 who have done lots of those privacy tweaks and have also disabled the Windows Updates service as well. This tool will automatically re-start the Windows Updates service and follow through with updates. And, as I understand it, one of the more recent requests for this tools creator is to make an option to stop and disable the Windows Updates service once updating is complete, although not sure if that has been added yet or not. Regardless, very nice tool to keep an eye on.
Afaik according in here it works on Windows 2000 to Windows 10. Precisely it was developed to assist Windows 10 user on that matter. So yes it can.

I meant that it's in development It is, right? Meanin bugs will be fixed, lists updated, etc. It's not an abandonware tool.

Hello All: Firstly, a big Thank You goes out to @Mister X, @stupid user and @shewolf for their time and efforts! @amarildojr: I really do appreciate, respect and share your care for system privacy/security. So far, the en_wumt.7z and wumt_x64.exe files successfully check out (0/55) at VirusTotal. If I get a chance, I'll run the wumt_x64.exe file while monitoring with Wireshark active and post here later with a summary. @Mister X and devs: In addition to what was posted in post #1 above, I believe a permanent F.A.Q. and some basic running instructions might be valuable for the lesser experienced. Anyone: Does anybody have a simple way of knowing if/when Microsoft's wsusscn2.cab has been updated, or will wumt_x64.exe seek to update that .cab file to the most recent? The current cabinet file seems to have been published on 03-October-2015. Thank you.

You know I'm not that savvy guy for testing programs and elaborate such information.
Looks interesting, M$ should have made something like this. But I have to admit, trust also plays a role.

I searched around and found a fix for this: Open the registry and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU In the right pane, change 'NoAutoUpdate' from a 1 to a 0. This worked for me, no reboot required. This should be noted in the original article, IMO, as it seems to me to be a critical flaw with this app. Reply
