I burn DVD movies with it all the time. Very reliable and easy to use. BurnAware Free 7.9 has drag and drop, and has had it for all of the previous versions I've used, so I'm not exactly sure what they mean when they say it's new. I have a couple of minor pet peeves with it but it's nothing that has to do with performance so I can't complain.
got the beta version im messing with tonight but just so anyone knows its a portable version and only the make iso feature nothing else is included with it yet. i really like the new gui though very clean. so far im not seeing any issues really with the beta though at least not yet its working great

Just download the update. Looks nice. Anyone use this to burn DVDs? When you open the DVDVideo dialog, it always has empty VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders in the window. I haven't been able to figure out what useful purpose they serve, if any. Does anyone know? I sent a support request to Burnaware but never heard back, probably 'cause I use the free version. The folders were there in version 7 and still there in 8. I normally remove them and then drag my folders for burning into the window. I've tried just adding my folders and replacing the other ones when it prompts, but it doesn't work right. It replaces, but the disk usage indicator in the lower left doesn't register anything. If I double click the VIDEO_TS folder though, all the files are there.
I have been intouch with Val and he sent me some info to post on this issue I hope it helps Gordon Detailed information about VIDEO_TS: http://fileinfo.com/help/video_ts_folder
Yeah, I rarely burn anymore either. The optical disc is going the way of the dodo. But this is the best option, in my opinion. I gave up on Nero a while back.
Thanks for the assist hayc, but the information is useless as far as the issue I described (not your fault though). I may not have been clear enough. I'm not trying to convert files to DVD, I have DVD files/folders for burning. I'll just continue removing them manually. Probably the easiest thing to do.
OK I figured it out - finally. You open the DVDVideo module, double-click the VIDEO_TS folder, then you can use the Add Files icon, or drag your files into Burnaware. It creates the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders for you then you have to add files. It seems easier to me to leave the window empty then you can just drag in your folders. But I know what's going on now at least.
Thanks, how do we go about beta testing the Pro version? (just curious, don't mind sitting on free for now to see if this tickles my fancy...)
