To view details of a scan go to the Control Centre> Logs> NOD32 Scanner Logs.

    1. You will see the scan has “Completed”.

    2. In this case an infection was detected (as per popup window in previous screenshot).

    Re: Extra settings for Nod32 v2.5 - revised 17-06-2005

    ENTERING YOUR USERNAME and PASSWORD

You will receive your Username and Password by email from a NOD32 Reseller, NOD32 Distributor or from ESET themselves; this is totally dependent upon how you purchased your license for NOD32.

Do NOT try to use a Username and Password that you have created, ONLY a Username and Password provided by ESET will work.

The following instructions are for using the Username and Password provided by ESET to download NOD32 from the internet, as well as for entering each into the "NOD32 Control Centre".

Entering a Username and/or Password into a POPUP BOX that advises of an incorrect Username or Password will FAIL to be remembered.

There is ONLY one area to enter such information, and that is the NOD32 Control Centre> Update> Setup area.

If you receive a notice about your settings being "Password Protected", you will need to address this FIRST or you will NOT be able to enter a Username and Password. See HERE for further information on addressing this.

    1. Your Username and Password will look like this screenshot.

The next step is the tricky part, you need to be VERY precise when "highlighting" your Username and then Password.

Please do NOT try to "type" in your Username and Password, as most people will fail; this is because certain letters and numbers are easily mixed up.

As an example only this Password: 01oliwvvx0 could be entered as:

    o as in oscar
    l as in lima
    0 as in the number
    1 as in the number
    l as in lima
    w as in whiskey
    w as in whiskey
    x as in x-ray
    o as in oscar

and this is only but one of many many combinations that could be made up for this particular password, all would be incorrect, the only password that would be accepted is the correct password:

    0 as in the number
    1 as in the number
    o as in oscar
    l as in lima
    i as in india
    w as in whiskey
    v as in victor
    v as in victor
    x as in x-ray
    0 as in the number

    Re: Extra settings for Nod32 v2.5 - revised 17-06-2005

    1. Click next to the last number in your "Username" and while holding down your left click button, drag the curser to the beginning of your Username, to the left side of the "A".

    2. This is VERY important, as per the screenshot, MAKE SURE there isn't a "SPACE" preceding or after your Username when you have it highlighted. This is because your Username is 10 characters long (12 if it is a EAV license), if there is a space it becomes 11 characters long, and then it is wrong.

    When your Username is highlighted.

    1. Right click on the highlight and then left click on "Copy".

ALTERNATIVELY hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and then at the same time, press "C" on your keyboard. This will copy what you have highlighted into the computers memory.

    Re: Extra settings for Nod32 v2.5 - revised 17-06-2005

Repeat the exact same steps that you have just completed above for your "Password".

    1. Click next to the last character in your "Password" and while holding down your left click button, drag the curser to the beginning of your Password, to the left side of the first "Character".

    2. This is VERY important, as per the original screenshot, MAKE SURE there isn't a "SPACE" preceding or after your Password when it has been highlighted. This is because your Password is 10 characters long, if there is a space it becomes 11 characters long, and then it is wrong.

    When your Password is highlighted.

    3. Right click on the highlight and then left click on "Copy".

ALTERNATIVELY hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and at the same time press "C" on your keyboard.

Now open up the NOD32 Control Centre by clicking on Start> All Programs> Eset> NOD32 Control Centre.

    4. Click on "Update".

    5. Click on "Setup".

    6. Click in the "Password [case sensitive]:" box and make sure it is blank/empty.

    7. Right click in the blank box and then left click on "Paste".

ALTERNATIVELY hold down the "Control" key on your keyboard and at the same time press "V" on your keyboard.

    8. Click on "OK".

The last and final step is while you are connected to the Internet click on "Update Now"; this is to test that your Username and Password have been entered correctly.

    WINSOCK REPAIR

Do NOT complete the following unless requested to do so.

    or

If you find that your internet connection has been broken, please run Winsock XP Fix and then repair IMON; see post number 55 HERE

A word of warning; for those that have specific Network Settings for DHCP, a Host file and fixed IP address, this tool will reset all of these settings, so you will have to re-enter such settings after using the tool.

    OR

Proceed with the following to delete the corrupted registry keys, and then reinstall the TCP/IP protocol.

Step 1. Delete the corrupted registry keys

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.

    2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

    3. In Registry Editor, locate the following keys, right-click each key, and then click Delete:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2

    4. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

NOTE: Restart the computer after you delete the Winsock keys. Doing so causes the Windows XP operating system to create new shell entries for those two keys. If you do not restart the computer after you delete the Winsock keys, the next step does not work correctly.

    Step 2. Install TCP/IP

    1. Right-click the network connection, and then click Properties.

    2. Click Install.

    3. Click Protocol, and then click Add.

    4. Click Have Disk.

    5. Type C:\Windows\inf and then click OK.

    6. On the list of available protocols, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click OK.

    7. Restart the computer.

    8. Repair IMON; see post number 55 HERE
