That is not true as Prevx has made many changes in the cloud over the past months with 99% less FP's I personally have not had one in over 4 months and I have my heuristics set to the MAX!

And the Ikarus icon was at the request of the vendor as it is part of Emsisoft Anti-Malware and now has Dr.Web! But the reason there is no Icon because
but it does show up in the scans if you have infected files!

I've had roughly 10 FP's over the past ~3 mo. Once I email prevx the log it is typically resolved in <24 hrs.

So that's about 1% and your right if you send them a scan log they will typically be resolved in <24 hrs. ;)

Not a champion on my computer. Not even a contender. In >6 months of Prevx use I have never had a False Positive. Better yet, I also have not ever had a False Negative.

Sorry I'm not in the loop, but Prevx has BB with it's Heuristics settings in v3 as I have mine all set to MAX without problems! The only hit I got was this week with the new Firefox 3.6.4 with there new c:\program files\mozilla firefox\plugin-container.exe and again it's because I had my Heuristics Maxed out and not a FP!

I'm not sure what you are saying as I have a home network and I have Prevx on Both machines so I don't think it will be a problem for me! And v4 will have some type of offline protection but not sure what they will come up with!

I don't think so as they want to keep there Complete Anti-Malware more complete and user friendly! I think that's enough off topic even though it is part of of HMP!

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

I am trying to decide which bundle to get with Hitman Pro, and am leaning towards Prevx because of the comments here about it being quiet. I don't need anything really heavy since I use Sandboxie and on-demand scans.

Would I be able to get Prevx 4 when it comes out if I buy 3 now?

I can't find any recent reviews or tests of how Prevx does as an anti-virus. Are there any?

Good Evening ! Currently been using Prevx 3.0 with Safe On Line for the past ten months and not one F.P. I use Hitman Pro on demand and G-Data I.S. 2011 as my primary protection. So far a Killer Trio ! Sincerely...Securon

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Speaking of on demand scanners, I do not see where I can tell HMP to scan a specific disk. I have a vdisk mounted that has two Trojans on it:

    Trojan.Agent/Gen-FraudPack
    Trojan.Agent/Gen-SSHNas[FakeAlert]

I can scan the different files individually via the context menu and HMP identifies some of them as Trojans, Surprisingly enough, if I scan the folder where the files are located via the context menu, HMP finds nothing o_O .

One of the files it did not take exception to had an 18/40 score on Virustotal.

I happen to know which files are infected, but if I did not, HMP would be of no help to me finding these files. If I boot the Vdisk and
run a default scan with HMP. it does a better job of finding the files, but all this seems a bit inconsistent to me.

Re: Anyone tried out Hitman Pro?

Hitman Pro is designed to run in the 'battle field'. It looks for signs of infections (malicious behaviour), so you should only run it on the computer that has the active infection(s). And preferably not in Safe Mode either, otherwise it might not find all threats.

Besides the 'Scan with Hitman Pro' function in the context menu, you cannot tell Hitman Pro to scan a specific disk. And this 'Scan with Hitman Pro' feature does *not* scan subfolders either. We limited that on purpose!
I am aware that all other software give an option to scan an entire disk or all folder contents but since Hitman Pro is a cloud based scanner, it is undesirable to scan every file on the disk - it would mean that every file should be requested or uploaded to the cloud, which would strain our Scan Cloud service and take ages on certain connections.

    Hope this helps.
