Keyboard Help

I'm running Zorin Core OS.

I need to invert my FN key, so I can use the F keys for music and such, without pressing FN every time.

I've tried FN+ESC, FN+NUM, FN+~

None of those seems to work.

I'm using a Logitech G513 Keyboard

Have you looked up the Linux shortcuts? They aren't the same as on Windows.

 

Yeah, searched everywhere. Nothing in bios or anything. Can't use GHub in linux. It's fine, just have to deal with it.

have you ever try to install solaar ?

 

This is usually done in the BIOS. I had that on my IdeaPad laptop - there was a toggle in the BIOS settings.

Edit: Just noticed you mentioned it, sorry for redundant information.

Edit 2: Does this happen consistently on all desktop environments (and also in Windows)?

Yeah, it doesn't recognize my keyboard for some reason.

 

It's usually a bios setting (or specific to a keyboard; I had an old Gateway 2000 keyboard way back that could be reprogrammed). If the bios can't change it, then the OS doesn't even know the Fn key is being used.

Maybe you could just remap the function keys and the Fn-altered function keys to reverse the effects?

And if you plug your keyboard on a Windows computer and set the Fn key to your needs using Ghub or Logitech gaming software, then unplug and plug into your linux computer ?

 

I was able to do this and it worked for me.
